Transformation II

I love me some Zep, and I love this riff from How Many More Times. So, I recorded a jam track using it as the basis for the groove...and invited my good friend (well, EVERYONE's good friend) Tom Adams to jam with me. I play the the main riff and take the first and third passes, Tom goes second and takes us home. I accidentally came across bowie and queen's under pressure song - and fancied that it would be some challenge to do an ok cover version of that of course most iconic tune.
And yeah I was right - a tremendous challenge;  that on many an occasion I was on the border of giving up on.  Then after bloody mindedly continuing, it slowly took a shape I could listen to:)
There are lots of different feels in this piece of music and all quickly stuck together. In this version I had to give the spacey feely part in the middle of the song a bit of extra breathing room, but then took out a lot of the long snappy fingers ending - seemed like a good idea at the time.  My excuse - I'm not even inclined to perform my original songs the same, so performing other peoples songs strangely turn into versions as well. Ha ha . . . 'Oh well!'

This is a very mean & moody Gibbo stood standing, silently singing ...more than thoughtful...leaning his back against his decaying doorway...
Terry somewhere in the chancellery, nonchalantly flipping a coin, with something nasty on one side and a worn out memory on the other. Offering some hope? Maybe not...
Me? Well, I'm in the toilet, with a grumbling bass whilst spouting a slightly sinister 'Andrews Sisters' thing :-)
