Multi-instrumentalist and producer Alex Banks collaborates with fellow Brighton-dweller Elizabeth Bernholz for the weighty electronic composition, “A Matter of Time”. The radio edit of the track premieres today on Best Fit.​

Opening with a swell of strings backed by dense beats, “A Matter of Time” is immediately compelling. Bernholz—known for her work as Gazelle Twin—heightens the emotional stakes of the piece as her vocals loom and bend their way around the lurching rhythm. Portishead fans will find much to savor in the richness and poise of Bernholz’s delivery and the vivid, cinematic atmosphere forged by Banks.

“A Matter of Time” is slated for a 12” vinyl and download release on 5 September via Monkeytown. The track is taken from Banks’ Illuminate LP, which contains two additional Bernholz collaborations and is available in CD, 2xLP, and download formats.

This time BrunoÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s brought a wingman: Kyle Watson. Last spotted on the labelÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s festive 7 Days Of Dirtybird project just over a year ago (and featured on Simma Black, This AinÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t Bristol and Bunny Tiger since), the South African artistÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s signature complements BrunoÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s skills toe-to-toe as the two dance a provocative techfunk dance.

Ã¢â‚¬ËœMarshmallowsÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ was made with Dirtybird in mind. Duly road tested by VonStroke, the click-slap drums, bulbous postcode-exclusive bassline and rippling, rising chords sealed the deal on the spot. Ã¢â‚¬ËœBut Why?Ã¢â‚¬â„¢ plays the consummate track two: Fusing a snake-charming hook, a rubber ball bassline, the pendulum hook and twisted vocal percussive elements, it asks way more questions than it answers.

Innershades is back on Creme with his trademark punchy Belgian ballet style, working his banana and juggling his coconuts in this heady caveman trunkstravaganza. No idea who these Three Kings are, this might be where all the repressed Catholicism comes into play, but Godspill has really outdone himself on the artwork here!
