Ambient Online One Sample Dare 51

Lynx Arc is my entry into the One Sample Dare challenge #51.

I will be brief, for now, on the creation of this piece.

I experimented with Paul Stretch and created five separate tracks from the original sample.

Each of these tracks were imported into Sonar.

An undoctored version of the sample was also imported into Sonar.

I also added three instances of Iris 2 in Sonar and used snippets of the original sample to create two pad sounds and a stab sound.


No effects were inserted into the track FX bins because I prefer to use busses and sends.

I therefore created separate busses for the following effects:-

Timeless 2
Breverb
Pro-R
Adaptiverb
MMultiBandGranular
Guitar Rig 5

I then used a load of automation on each track to send audio to the various FX busses.

in audition i applied 7 voice chorus and lots of convolution reverb to the whole sample
in audacity i paulstretched the sample to about 8 minutes long, there was a nice tonal element in the middle which i isolated
in ableton i made a chain of protoplasm > izotope vinyl > six string ambience > podfarm2 (sine chorus - analog delay mod - echo platter - reverb) 
in protoplasm i loaded the isolated sample at 3 different octaves and improvised live using my mouse on an onscreen keyboard while my partner tried to talk to me
recorded the track in audacity then normalized it. tried to hide the bad playing with some preverb (reversed the track, applied reverb, reversed again)
pulled the track back into audition. declipped and declicked. duplicated the track - convolution reverb in one. mastering and guitar fuzz in the other. crossfaded to the latter.
