Cinematic Jungle & 160 DJ/Producer/Remixer from the South Coast UK. Co-owner of Codename: Amen events.

DJing and crate digging since his teens, Moakz (Jon) was resident and promoter for the highly regarded Offshore & Toast events in Southampton during the mid-late 90's and early 00's, and was also an old-skool hardcore resident for Adrenalin during the same period, playing at numerous other events and free parties during this period. He subsequently co-produced and released several Nu-Skool Breaks tracks under the pseudonym Mobius on Ape Records, Dusted Breaks, VIM Records and Yellow Finger.

Moakz has recently returned, energised by the contemporary jungle and atmospheric sounds, with a new sound and several releases in quick succession which merge atmospheric elements with timeless breaks to deliver a mix of both epic dancefloor jungle and serene melodies. Soaring amens, space-age synths and rolling bass combine perfectly in his music and DJ sets which draw on both the classic and modern jungle and atmospheric sounds, from time to time drawing on elements of old-skool breakbeat Hardcore and more mature Liquid and Autonomic vibes.

2023 brings a succession of releases including the forthcoming 'Big Ideas EP' on Liquid Drops on 27th January, compilation tracks on Deep In The Jungle, One More Tune, and Eco Futurism Corporation, several remixes and further releases to be announced.

Moakz is a co-owner and resident of Codename: Amen, a Southampton-based event focussing on modern and classic Jungle, 160, Breakbeats, Hardcore and Atmospheric DnB / Jungle.

Astral Haze returns once more with 4 more varied atmospheric cuts. The title track starts the EP withe delicate keys, rolling beats and oldksool influenced bleeps to deliver another dancefloor number. Next up is Jazztastic Flow, an uplifting amen roller that is sure to continue to move the dancefloor. Analogical follows with more rolling breaks, strings and an electro tinged bassline, a more relaxing journey but still sure move people's feet. The EP ends on Something Beautiful, a guitar and Apache infused ride through smooth pads and discreet keys; a perfect end to this latest chapter.

Duburban and Peeb open the release with Route 1, 8 minutes of pure dubbed out militant choppage and science.

We continue the dubwise journey with Prophet, welcoming Krugah to the label. This collaboration with Peeb leans even further into the dub and roots influence.

On the flip side label head Pixl teams up with Champa B for more amen science and sub bass pressure in the form of Chalice Dub.

Finally we have the release being closed off with Telepathy by Duburban and Krugah, bringing oldschool pads mixed with hectic drumfunk beats and edits.
