Codename: RCRDS welcomes another newcomer to the label, and a first from South America, with the unique tech-funk drum and bass pressure of Brazil's ErBass.

EP opener 'Focus' demonstrates exactly this with a driven head-down dancefloor stomper, before the wobbler of a title track 'Pressure' keeps things bubbling along nicely. Minimal tech roller 'Amos Seven' keeps the grooves in play before 'Road To Emaus' makes full use of the space around its tightly knitted drum work, before label favourite TRC2 offers up a dark edged rework of 'Focus' with another stunning trademark take on modern techstep from this impressively talented artist.

Data B - Crate Digs Volume Two

The Crate Digs series returns with Data B flicking through the dusty backroom boxes for our 2nd session in the series, this time adding classic Latino vibes into the series' previous melting pot of Jazz, Hip Hop, Funk and Soul.

Opener 'Excitao' brings piri-piri flavours to the table with it's beautiful combination of rolling breaks, far-flung vocals and dreamy guitars, before the deep bass tones and warm keys of 'Sheets' takes us deeper into the release.

Bourbon drifts easily into vintage jazz note territory with it's intricate drum works and brass sections, before Step Left expands this further with full flavoured edits, fresh-sounding and also reminiscent of classic Speed-era releases, before closing with an instrumental rendition of 'Excitao'. Dedicated to Greta.

Opener 'Blue Salute' provides a killer combination of snappy breaks, rolling arpeggios and driving bass, before 'Seek & Find' move things into a deeper direction with its warm vocals and evolving leads.

Sub-shaking title track 'Find My Peace' rolls along beautifully before the intricate and driving number 'The Redeemer' takes centre stage. The EP closes with the dreamlike organ tones and synth stabs of 'Memories of Shepherd's Bush'.

NonRev's long-awaiting and beautifully deep remix of Missen's classic 'All U Need' finally arrives, taking the track in a beautiful new direction which stirs into a timeless epic.

Fundamentals returns to Codename with the deep rolling vibes, snappy breaks and dusty grooves of 'Trust Me', before Okee serves up a wonderful remix of Trident's classic 'Feel Good'. delivered in the trademark style of this atmospheric master.

The EP closes with 'Return To A Distant Sun' from label-debutant Hajimeru (an alias of Codename's main artwork designer) - a beautiful GLR style amen workout soaked in beautiful pads and dreamy vocals.

Woken Balance & Trident - Void EP

Codename favourites Woken Balance & Trident take steps into the darker more introspective realms of atmospheric Drum & Bass with 'Void EP'. 

Channelling the sound of 90's Techstep, the release opens with the dreamy tones and stepping rhythms of the title track before giving way to the Prototype-era influenced 'Vulcan'. Things take a lighter turn with the stunning dream state and catchy riffs of 'Times Change', before Trident brings the EP to a close as he takes us back into the darkness with the surging bass tones and warped futurism of 'Galatea'.
