After dropping two stunning tracks in 2023, Donegal’s Microcosm makes his full label debut with our first release of 2024 – ‘Labyrinth EP’.

The EP commences with the title track ‘Labyrinth’, where dreamy pads and synths give way to its appropriately labyrinthine amens for a tearing opener. Things continue with ‘Inferno’, a 93-influenced dancefloor workout full of chopped breaks, warped bass, dark stabs and dub influences. In contrast to its name, ‘Pandemonium’ offers a little respite, with rolling breaks and deep pads locking you into a groove, before the EP closes with label co-owner Moakz’s rework of ‘Inferno’ – upping the tempo a little and adding intricately edit drums and subtle new atmospherics to the original track for a rousing finale to the release.

On today guest mix we have the wonderful imad:re from scrubs to dubs, imad:re is a 26 year old doctor/DJ powerhouse who brings her surgical precision into the booth every time. Since playing her first open decks in September, she’s been taking the local underground scene by storm. Regularly doing laps of the Manchester club Grand Prix, she’s supported selectors such as Effy, Denham Audio and Bianca Oblivion. Spinning UKG, techno, bass and electro with as many peaks and troughs as an Alton Towers rollercoaster, imad:re knows how to keep a crowd grooving and guessing. A killer festival debut at Junction 2 and impressive Beatport competition win within her first 18 months of mixing proves that this multigenre medic isn’t one to miss!

This one’s absolutely MAD. Business As Usual finally link up with the don ILLAMAN and it bangs exactly how you’d hope. Illa’s voice slices clean through the BAU weight, proper damage for the dance.

ILLAMAN’s obviously a staple in the scene: Pengshui, Foreign Beggars, Chinese Man, hosting for Andy C & Fabio & Grooverider, etc. Fully gassed to have him blessing the Sofa camp with this collab.

Flip side’s all BAU, ‘Died Out’, cold, futuristic funk, dark edges, rolling hard. That kind of tune you hear once and know the reload’s incoming. These boys are only just warming up.
