I am a born and raised MidBESTerner. Occasionally I'll mess around behind the decks for those with a discerning ear.

Codes continues to bring his own twist on house music. This man's DJ sets are just as funky as his tracks, both heavily influenced by jungle, hip hop, and the art of DJing. His releases on Holy Molé, Dirtybird, Night Bass, and Night Service Only are just a peek at what lies ahead for Codes. Recently taken on the role as record label owner/curator of Holy Molé Music. Feeling out each track for quality dopeness before peeling it back to feed the masses. The deliberate intention behind each drop on stage or in the studio, along with the masterful curation of his label are the perfect recipe for another record breaking year for Codes.

I bought my first record aged 5, it was a dinosaur themed LP which I still have in my collection. My 1st stint as a DJ came in 1991 when I played a school disco using a twin cassette player. Four years later I moved on to a set of Soundlab belt drives. I taught myself to mix from scratch using these before moving on to a set of Technics a few years later. 
I set up the promotions company FunkyDory in 1999 with a group of like minded friends! We quickly secured a weekly Thursday night residency at the Green Parrot, Cardiff. Within two months we had secured a Friday night residency at the Slug & Lettuce, Cardiff & it wasn't long before we were playing Friday, Saturday & bank holidays. We also held a very successful annual DJ competition on a Thursday. 

My big break came in 2001 when I was nominated for best up & coming DJ at the inaugural Welsh dance music awards which I went on to win. Our event at the Slug & Lettuce also won best pre club bar two years running. As a result, I have gone on to hold a number of local residencies & played at numerous events, the most notable being Pete Tong & the heritage orchestra(Cardiff Castle), The Vocal Booth Weekender(Campoamor), Gatecrasher NYE(Cardiff Ice Rink), The Radio 1 Big Weekend(Coopers Field), Time Flies(City Hall, Coal Exchange), Lamerica, Coolhouse, National Anthems, Bionic, Enter The Dragon. I have also been fortunate enough to play alongside the likes of Pete Tong, Grant Nelson, DJ Disciple, Joey Negro, Jazzy M, Bobby & Steve, Graeme Park, Craig Bartlett & Dave Jones, K Klass, Scott Bond, Seb Fontaine, Jon Pleased Wimmin, Judge Jules, John Kelly, DJ Heaven to name but a few.
