Inspired by the personal stories of migration in both Roxana & Pete's own families, their new track explores that feeling of being mixed culturally, of being rootless & of making home in many places. 
War was a backdrop to both their childhoods.
Roxana grew up in Iran & her family fled when the Iran/Iraq war started.
Pete's parents grew up in the old Czechoslovakia and fled to 
London when the Russian tanks rolled into Prague. 
These feelings are also something that many of us are experiencing in the world right now, as many people flee their homes due to conflicts.

On the 16th of December Codewalkers are back with a new single ‘Santa is a Pimp’. Coupling their unique, upbeat fusion of genres with vocalist Seun Babatola’s trademark probing lyrics, ‘Santa is a Pimp’ is a fun alternative take on Christmas and where our presents come from. The track takes the perspective of a disgruntled elf who, fed up with poor working conditions, conspires with a disillusioned kid to blow up Santa’s workshop.

The track follows on from the success of their last release ‘Preternatural’, which as well as receiving airplay on BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio Wales was made Tom Robinson’s BBC6 Music Mixtape Pick of the Week. ‘Santa is a Pimp’ is accompanied by a live video performance of the track, filmed at Theatr Soar, Merthyr.
