The Guarulhos-born, Dublin-based, Skullbreaker is a Brazilian and Portuguese Hard Industrial Techno DJ/Producer and event manager of Babylon Global Radio, who has always been connected with music since childhood having a lot of gold influences which paved his way to where he is now.
 He had started his DJ career in the big São Paulo and at the moment he is becoming well-known on the Techno Dublin scene, where he is currently refining his craft getting support by Jeremy Wahab,   biggest local DJs and the Urban Wave label.

His massive sets and music involves special and deep journeys always bringing his followers on a different story through his evolution.

Growing up in Solingen near Cologne and Düsseldorf, I had some fantastic club experiences. 
My great passion is dancing. I started mixing during the pandemic in June 21 and now I play for many radio stations, including Radio Kosmos Berlin, Techneck Techno & Tech House, Profound Radio UK and 365 FM Radio. Guest mix on NDC Radio UK. I love house music in all its genres and of course techno. I express my love of music in my sets, which are always very impulsive and full of energy. The groove just has to be right. I produced my first song with a good friend Hardvalley in 2025. I have my own club series on Sundays in a cultural association here in my city Waldmeister e.V. No hay límites físicos o mentales, ni absurdos perjuicios, en la forma de disfrutar, entender y crear música para Joan Capo aka Discontrol. Muy al contrario. Con él siempre tenemos la impresión de que lo mejor está por descubrir y llegar. 

Tanto en sus sesiones como DJ, como en sus producciones, este joven artista mallorquín -residente en Barcelona- sabe sinergiar, con inusitada sapiencia y una destreza técnica alabable- sonidos electrónicos de última generación, con estilos -como el rock o el indie- sin los que Discontrol no sería lo que es. Una de sus principales virtudes, la que le añade más valor, es que logra plasmar en su techno esa dulce rebeldía de antaño, mutada en felicidad sintética. 

Lo suyo es el techno, pero visto desde diferentes planos, musicalidades y subestilos. De hecho, se mueve con la misma destreza por el electro-techno industrial que por la vertiente más club -melódica, sofisticada y altamente bailable- del género parido en Detroit. Disfruta mezclando al más puro estilo baleárico, siempre sin colisión, emociones orgánicas -con querencias pop y rock- sobre bases de techno melódico que, tienen, como objetivo movernos y conmovernos. Y todo ello aderezado con una producción impecable, de la que cuando más alto suena, más dentro llega.

There are no physical or mental limits, nor absurd prejudices, in the way of enjoying, understanding and creating music for Joan Capo aka Discontrol. Quite the contrary. With him we always have the impression that the best is yet to be discovered and to come. 

Both, in his sessions as a DJ and in his productions, this young Majorcan artist -resident in Barcelona- knows how to synergize electronic sounds of the latest generation, with styles such as rock or indie, with unusual sapience and a praiseworthy technical skill. Without those, Discontrol would not be what he is. One of his main virtues, the one that adds the most value, is that he manages to capture that sweet rebelliousness of the past in his techno, mutated into synthetic happiness. 

His thing is techno, but seen from different perspectives, musicalities and sub-styles. In fact, he moves with the same dexterity in industrial electro-techno as he does in the most clubby side - melodic, sophisticated and highly danceable - of the genre born in Detroit. He enjoys mixing in the purest Balearic style, always without collision, organic emotions -with pop and rock leanings- over melodic techno bases that aim to move our bodies and touch our souls. And all this seasoned with an impeccable production, which the louder it sounds, the deeper it gets.

- Seeds and Dreams sprouting in Darkness 🖤 - 

Born in 1978 in Germany, Roul Bauer—better known as Vicious Steam Engine—discovered his passion for techno during the explosive rave movement of the 1990s in Switzerland and Germany. Deeply inspired by the driving rhythms and hypnotic energy of the scene, he carried that passion forward until it fully ignited during the COVID-19 lockdown in August 2020. It was then that his desire to create his own sonic journeys came to life.

A year later, he began producing his own techno tracks and honed his mixing skills through a DJ/mixing workshop with Mixmasters.ch. To sharpen his craft and connect with the underground community, he launched his own podcast on SoundCloud: Hot Pressure Stream. Originally started as a training ground, the podcast quickly gained momentum, attracting a growing audience and guest DJs such as Anne Rosko, Isca Nublar, 909RIOT, Traumtherapie, DJ E-Viction, Tchie, Andy Pirie, Techno X-Citement, DJ Capelli, X-Dream, and Nao Tamura.

Vicious Steam Engine has made guest appearances on several respected underground techno podcasts, including TECNO OSCURO (2 DJ sets), A Darker Wave, Techno Topic by Andy Pirie, and RTDFRAVERRADIO (Brooklyn, NY). He has also been featured on Capelli’s Outta Freak’in Control Podcast, an episodic series that showcases cutting-edge underground talent and airs on RTDFRAVERRADIO.com. His recent guest sets placed him alongside legendary and rising artists such as Frankie Bones, Lenny Dee, Jim Solis, D.A.V.E. The Drummer, Rewilder, Chris Liberator, DJ Papa Smrf, Jay Maniakal, DJ Capelli, DJ Hooraa, Bösetecha, Destro187, and Belaroc.

On November 28, 2021, Vicious Steam Engine released his debut EP Dark Dance of Gratitude on TECNO OSCURO, followed by the Kill the Silence EP on April 18, 2022.

Since 2023, he has taken a deep dive into music production, attending two techno retreats hosted by Mixmasters.net in Ibiza. There, he studied with industry legends such as Funk D’Void, Patrik Berg, Harvey McKay, Wehbba, and Josh Wink. He is currently advancing his production skills through an online course in electronic music at Sinee Institute, led by Björn Torwellen, while also mastering the Ableton Push 2.

With relentless dedication to evolving his sound, Vicious Steam Engine continues to build momentum and forge his path in the global techno scene.
