CODEX013 Mattew Jay - Cancer EP

So great to see the names in the artist list of IAMT. In release 72 we have Dataworx - Canadian techno genius, who runs his fast rising imprint Datacode and has already released his stuff on Toolroom, Noir, 1605, Definitive and many more great labels. His Fearless" is an outstanding Deep-Techno track with impressive vocal parts and hypnotic baselines - solid stuff which we are really happy to release on IAMT. Spartaque added Techno energy into the track by adding extra ride loops, powerful baseline and dirty fxes. But also he tried to save the incredible fascinating mood of original track. So now we have two different mixes in one great release which you definitely have to try!

We are happy to welcome Maceo Plex to Drumcode with the fourth instalment of his Conjure series, ‘Conjure Infinity’. Featuring two tracks ‘Conjure Dreams’ and ‘Conjure Floyd’, both are peak time monsters that introduce two very different elements. ‘Conjure Dreams’ utilises a groovy, melodic bass that is reinforced using tight thumping drums to shatter any dance floor into the universe. ‘Conjure Floyd’ builds into a more ‘heads down’ techno vibe with a very interesting breakdown. Two sure fire tracks to ignite the floor.

There’s no triple heel clicks initiating our latest return to Kansas as we head back to celebrate the third SCI+TEC installment from the Midwestern state’s Chris Rusu. Fermata and The Future Is Never bookended 2014 as the young producer, who favours a minimal, funky tech-bounce, announced himself to the world.

Spies & Lies is his latest SCI+TEC triple-header with Blowback, Whistleblower and Sleeper Cell all portraying that laidback rubbery bass grooves that Rusu is becoming known for. Mysterious and with slightly sinister edge, Chris’ latest tracks are perfect for twisting the floor up a little in those early hours.

Carlos Manaca’s relationship with SCI+TEC boss Dubfire stretches as far back 2002, when his track ‘The Strong Rhythm’ was licensed to Deep Dish’s ‘Global Underground: Moscow’ compilation. Today they reconnect as the Portuguese producer makes his label debut with ‘Turn The Atoms’. 

Carlos’ own career began at the turn of the 90’s, as Acid House took hold. As a resident DJ at "Rock's Club" (Vila Nova de Gaia, Oporto, Portugal) he shared the decks with the scenes biggest names throughout the nineties and noughties. His own productions have topped the sales charts and his brand of dark, Tribal tech, infused with ethnic influences has seen his music heralded as leading the so-called ‘Portuguese Sound’. 

On Turn The Atoms he brings the sound of his homeland to SCI+TEC with two fresh rolling slices of minimal funk in ‘Dark Atoms’ and ‘The Turn’. Welcome to the family, Carlos.

<p>Danny Fontana touches down with no less than four offerings, straight out the handbook of claustrophobic episodes.&nbsp; The looped-out title track opens the EP, boasting metallic riffs and slowly evolving into a frantic synth maelstrom.&nbsp; &#8220;A Long Side&#8221; continues in a slightly more subliminal vibe with soaring electronics and mutated vocal snippets, leading to the effect-laden &#8220;Latex&#8221; which keeps adding momentum with menacing stabs.&nbsp; &#8220;Reptile&#8221; seals the deal with huge, mutated pads that eventually give way to a climax of disjointed arpeggios.</p>
