The first official single from Coding Candy. Written and produced by Luigi Cirelli, the song is freely inspired by the everlasting cigarettes of Rachael, starring Sean Young in Bladerunner (1982, Ridley Scott).
The magic sounds are mixed by Domenico Vigliotti (Patti Smith, Endless Tapes, Giuradei, Jairo Zavala, Fifa WorldCup 2014, Julie’s Haircut) and mastered by the recent Grammy Award Giovanni Versari (Muse, Afterhours, Mario Biondi, Vinicio Capossela, Franco Battiato).

Hello everyone! This is a demonstration of the sound design work I did for the Novation Peak. I created 50 patches demonstrating some of the new features that the v1.2 firmware update has to offer. My sound pack is available for free with the update through Novation's Components App. Select the Novation tab on that app to access them as well as GForce Software's free patches. 

The patches are performed with a mixture of Octatrack sequencing (using sequences from songs I have written) and live performance with a MIDI controller. I was inspired by artists like Delia Derbyshire and wanted to record little vignettes and sonatas using the Peak without other sound sources.

I made this recording so that friends can hear the sounds I made and so that other Peak users can get a closer glimpse into how I envision sound design. Please get in touch if you have any questions about my process or anything else related to this project and I will respond as best I can. 

The Novation Peak was recorded directly into a Steinberg UR44 interface. No external effects. Subtle mastering from Tokyo Dawn Labs software to balance recordings of different patches. Thank you for listening!

Coding Candy’s the last musical project by Luigi Cirelli, spreading across electronica, R&R and soundtrack landscapes. The first EP H3ll0 W0rld was released in june 2016 and in the meantime Coding Candy has been supporting act for Julie’s Haircut, Yakamoto Kotzuga, Dardust and Be a Bear. In 2017 a new sound is on the way with tons of vocoder, house beats and synth-drops. The new single More Than Bits is out now on digital distribution channels. The related EP is out on november 24th 2017.
