‘’HUAN Quintet’’ is a band found in 2019 which plays modern jazz and free improvisation, mostly plays the music wrote by the band leader ShaoHuan HUNG. ShaoHuan is from Taiwan who plays the Sheng(traditional Chinese instrument) and based in Brussels, he is the first Sheng player who has brought the instrument into Jazz. Recoloring the modern sound, he puts the Sheng together with TenorSax, Guitar, Bass and drums as a band, unlike any other harmonic instruments, Sheng has its own character and loads of sound possibilities.

Solo Electronic project

« fear in the dark », for string quartet and live electronics, is my first composition for string quartet. Using spectral techniques, it explores live sound processing by feeding the sound from the quartet into reverbs and ring modulators, whose parameters are partially controlled by amplitude detectors. 
A labyrinth of harmonies and melodic lines that continuously transform, projected into space; the metaphor of the quartet and its shadow.

- Balloon Flower


I kissed a young girl. The way she smiles is charming, eyes curving like a petal curves. I also like her clucking, like her gentle hands, like she says I am like balloon flower and her favourite flower is balloon flower.  But I have forgotten since when, till now, whenever I see soft balloon flower blossom in gleaming air, I would want to cry.


- 桔梗



我親吻了一位年輕的女孩。她笑起來的樣子很迷人，眼睛會彎起像是一片花瓣的美麗弧度。我也喜歡她輕輕地笑聲，喜歡她溫柔的手，喜歡她說我像是桔梗而她最喜歡的花就是桔梗。但已經忘記從什麼時候開始了，至今，每當我看到柔柔軟軟的桔梗花輕輕地綻放在透著光暈的空氣中，就會想哭。

- Le platycodon

J’embrassa une jeune fille. Sa manière de sourire était charmante, ses yeux reculaient en une belle forme d’arc comme une pétale. J’aimais aussi son doux rire, ses tendres mains et qu’elle me dise de ressembler au platycodon.
Et sa fleur préférée était le platycodon. Mais je ne me souviens plus depuis quand, jusqu’à maintenant, chaque fois que je vois s’épanouir de souples platycodons dans l’air traversé par le halo. J’ai envie de pleurer.
