I am neither afraid of showing my emotions nor to include them in my music - Stimming

Few people bring a truly original sound to house music. At a relatively young age, Hamburgs Martin Stimming did just that, demonstrating a sophisticated yet accessible sound that is beyond his years.

Two years after hooking up with Solomuns Diynamic Music, his 2008 breakthrough hit Una Pena made the electronic world sit up and take notice, and before long acclaimed labels like Freerange, liebe*detail, Buzzin´ Fly, Green and Poker Flat were snapping up his work. 2009 saw him release his immaculate debut album Reflections to great acclaim, cementing his reputation as one of the most exciting new producers of his generation. 

His second album, Liquorice, eschews the normal kick-clap/snare template by and large to explore more interesting and progressive territories, but always with that trademark magpie-like sense of texture, emotion and discovery. 

His productions are filled with a multitude of his own unique, charismatic field recordings, and he never uses the same sample more than once. 

2010 saw him pick up an award for Best Newcomer at the Ibiza DJ Awards, following on from his live show (Stimming does not DJ) stunning the crowds at the islands legendary Pacha, and the finest danceries around the world Πfrom Berlins Panoramabar to Sao Paulo´s D-Edge, Brussels Fuse, London´s fabric and Paris Rex, and plenty more beyond. 

Remixes for the likes of Sascha Funke, Claude VonStroke, Deadmau5, Stephan Bodzin and Tom Novy to name but a few have further spread his influence amongst the discerning house and tech community, and cemented his reputation as one of the scene´s most exceptional producers.

Clearly, Martin Stimming is a precious talent indeed. But then again, not everyone loves liquorice...

From the moment Taylah was born, she always loved performing and being in the spotlight. For the first few years of her life, she lived with her mom, and her grandmother Kathi McDonald. Kathi was a singer her entire life, working with artists like Ike and Tina Turner and The Rolling Stones. She always had her musician friends over, so Taylah was influenced at a very young age to singing, music and the arts.
	As she got older, Taylah started showing interest in music, picking up the violin for several years but then changing her direction more towards singing. She took part in Jazz Honor Choir, music theory classes and voice lessons for over 6 years. Once she hit high school, she started competing in state competitions and performing in jazz festivals across the state, as well as performing in talent shows and school musicals. When it came to her own taste and style, she always connected with ballad style, soulful artists like Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill and Norah Jones. All with powerful, yet controlled vocals. 
	With the influence of jazz, she is able to sing a wide range of genres- anything from hip-hop/R&B, to country and blues. She is currently working on recording a full demo showcasing her versatile vocal capabilities so that she can pave the way to creating her own album. She has been a part of the San Diego underground house and techno scene for 5 years and has been very influenced by all of her friends that are producers and DJs. She hopes to produce a vocal house EP as well as a hip-hop/R&B EP by next summer.

Their music style focuses on combining melodic tribal rhythms within a Techno framework to create a story that moves through the environment. Working with resonant baselines, KYSI aims to awaken a deep emotional vibe, while connecting to the inner heartbeat of life. Through co-creation, KYSI’s  mission is to be inclusive, authentic, and expressive, while foraging a place in the music scene where women have the ability to break into male dominated creative spaces. KYSI not only has their music to offer, but a strong voice for female empowerment and inspiration.
