A stolen mummy awakens from the Land of the Dead after 3,000 years to wander through the dark heart of a post-industrial metropolis.  They encounter a discombobulated and anxious urban scene, dotted with light: the serenity of a lakeside idyll, the pulse of the city by night, the Orphic release of the rave.

110 -> 160. Bass and heavy electro, ambient vibes, rolling bass, some faster techno and breaks toward the end, footwork apotheosis.

The mix is called Homecoming and is a musical reflection and comment on my return to Norway and my hometown Stavanger (Norway's oil capital) where Tesla is the new Mercedes. Searching for something I could call my cultural heritage, I collected music representing a selection of different Norwegian identities.

Dear Nyege Family Worldwide, and especially our fans and supporters in the US, today is a very sad day for us as we were really looking forward to joining our sister Kampire tonight at the Black Flamingo in New York for the closing of Red Bull Music Festival. We want to thank Red Bull and our friend and agent Matt from On the sly, and Mr David from Covey Law, as well as presidential candidate Senator Gillibrand, and our label Nyege Nyege Tapes and our manager Abbas for supporting a month long visa application process to perform in NY for a fee that is more than our combined families make in a year. Our hope never left us till the last second, but in the end, NOTHING could prove that we did not intend to run away illegally once checked in at our Holliday Inn. As two twenty year old tanzanian boys, with no secondary school education, not a single property in our name, not a shilling in our pocket, and no family in America, the consular authorithies seemed to sincerely think that there was a “better life” available for us there that we would not resist to chase. But the current situation in America does not indicate any sign that we would find more freedom, happiness and success there, or does it? The fact that we fill stadiums in Dar Es Salaam and are loved by millions in our country, that we have a tour schedule that has us play everywhere in the world, despite being featured in the Guardian, the Economist, Fact and Pitchfork, they still assumed we were going to run away and hide illegally in America, as two uneducated, non english speaking tanzanian boys. 
As we continue to try and receive our permit to come and share our culture with you, we would like to invite you to our country Tanzania, we shall grant you a visa on arrival, no matter who you are, and trust that you shall not overstay. Come and see our shows, visit our studios and we can even head all together to our Nyege festival in september in Uganda. Feel welcome! 

We recorded a mix for you, make sure you listen with full full volume and in clothes you can comfortably dance in… 

We also wish our replacement, DJ Jackson Waka, a young congolese brother who recently fled war at home (war over you know what) for a better life in Texas, we wish Jackson and Kampire and sister BEARCAT to kill the show tonight and make people dance as if they were at a singeli party in our home. We love and respect you, and for those of you who still think of artists escaping to America, think about it again, it doesn’t make sense and you’ll lose the chance to see amazing performances.
