It is all about timing; with their debut album "Atoms To Atoms" across three stunning pieces of vinyl coming later this month, the timing is perfect for a 55min mix with a good few unreleased/up and coming tracks from Zodiac Childs and some of their favourite artists alongside tried and tested heaters old and new. 

Zodiac Childs channels the spirit of UK hardcore; sonically leaning on the sounds of electro, classic breaks and techno. They tend to take their audience on a journey across the entire nightlife experience, from atmospheric opener to the energy of abandoned northern English factories and mills, rusted and empty yet filled by 303 basslines. 

With otherworldly EP releases on Exalt, Further Electronix and their own Zodiac Wax they will now finally add to their impressive discography with their new LP:

On his fourth EP, Tim Crombie aka A Psychic Yes invites us to follow him off the beaten track – or dancefloor. Acid Camp is excited to announce a new compilation album. The album celebrates the label’s 10 year anniversary with 35 artists—of which 25 are releasing with the label for the very first time.

As the largest release in the record label’s history, Acid Camp: 10 Year Anniversary Compilation dramatically expands upon Acid Camp All Stars Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 (both 2018) with more than triple the number of featured artists. Ten return to the label, including Eric Cloutier and Jeremiah Chiu, while Abby Echiverri, Bézier, Force Placement, and 32 more celebrate their first track with Acid Camp.

From Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, New York, Berlin to Tokyo, the artists represent the breadth of the underground and independent music scenes of the 2020s and underscore the collective strength of Acid Camp’s community since 2013. The release spans dancefloor-forward acid house and techno to ambient, downtempo, and funk selections. Lyrics are cut and collaged; synths are squelched; grooves are grooved.

100% of the album's profits will be donated to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF), founded over 30 years ago in 1991. PCRF is the leading nonprofit organization providing medical care and diverse humanitarian assistance to countless children in the Middle East.

Pediment - Your Life Is Changing

Following 2020’s 'Point Vacancies', the debut EP from Jamie Paton and Mike Bourne’s collaborative act Metal, the duo return with a trio of dubwise remixes from Mr Paton himself as well as a peak-time stormer from fellow Bristol artist, Hodge. The latter immediately sets the record ablaze with a driving thump, duo of grainy hi-hats and a chalky clap. He layers an anthemic three-chord pad progression, building octaves, peppering in arpeggiated bleeps and articulate lead melodies, then tops it off with a few modular elements that retain the character of the original, before climaxing in true rave fashion. Proper. The following three mixes by Metal’s own Jamie Paton make apparent his sonic obsession — the type of infinite tweaking that sees some artists/producers to the edge of madness, or at the very least satisfies some dragon-chasing addiction. There’s a successive deconstruction from 'Remix' to 'Dubwise' to 'Dubwise II', most notably a reduction of rhythm and drum machinery, but also in general tonality. The melody remains central but is gradually obscured, taking on a less and less recognizable form, and by the end we’re left with a skeleton of the track, quips and cranks, an assembly line of aluminum sheeting punctuated by demented nuts and bolts. As with the previous EP, the sparsity of elements illustrates just how far one can twist aesthetics, proving that self-imposed limitations can often propel an artist’s process and land them somewhere unfamiliar, somewhere foreign, somewhere enchanted.
