For the episode 21 We are happy to welcome Thies the resident of Ananas events in Vienna. Matthias aka Thies has been active in the local scene since 2012. Not only as a DJ but also by putting up own events together with friends. About a year later he made his first steps in the world of music production, which soon became a passion for him.  In his productions and sets you can find a variety of flavours ranging from driving and energetic to hypnotic and dubish parts paired with a minimalistic touch. Thies released one track and one remix on Elektrotribe as well as  4 Eps available on his bancamp website.

Elektrotribe Expressions Episode 21 : Thies

@boxia, a self confessed ‘rave anorak’ and selector of all things underground, takes us into his world in the next episode of the LWE Mix Series. 
 
Heavily influenced by years spent front-and-centre on the dancefloor, the UK-based DJ and producer has a playful, transcendental and often innovative approach to music.  First gaining attention in 2015 with releases on famed imprint’s Food Music and Waveform Recordings, Boxia has now featured on labels such as Balkan, Lobster Theremin, Alien Trax and Adam Beyer’s Drumcode, touring extensively with the latter at events such as Junction 2 and Tobacco Dock Halloween. He's also delivered sets at esteemed institutions like Berlin's Funkhaus and Motion in Bristol, and performed in India for the first time at the beginning of 2020.  Drenched in atmospheric cuts and ethereal beats, this mix contains the usual creativity and nuance that have become hallmarks of his multi-faceted approach.

This week 6AM welcomes Brazilian master selector Bervon for the Guest Mix. Speaking on his special guest mix, Bervon says listeners should expect "a set some of my influences... mixing different techno sounds with darker, square, straight and introspective characteristics."

The ability to change people's emotions in a positive way is an essential quality for artists who want to truly connect with the crowd. Bervon, for example, understands that when he is called to take over the DJ booth, regardless of location, he has a mission to accomplish: to bring those ahead of him to his own universe, creating an intense environment where there are no boundaries for fun. He enjoys the bass and fast kicks of techno to exude a euphoric rhythm in his performances, precisely inserting the melodic and dark elements into the construction of his set, ensuring to select the right songs at the right time for the crowd. 

Those attributes are also present in his productions, which have garnered approval and signed by labels such as Egothermia Records (Netherlands), Ballroom Black (Germany), Cartel Recordings (Germany), Noise Music (Brazil), Hotstage Records (Brazil), Kaligo Records (Brazil) and Spliced Vinyl Recordings (Canada). Bervon, who has shared the stage with Christian Smith, Shall Ocin and Vinicius Honorio, had his track played by Wehbba, aside from performances at clubs such as Vibe, Inbox and Universo Paralello - at the festival's 20-year edition - today dreams of taking his music to Europe and spread his talent across Brazilian borders, carrying with him the knowledge and passion for techno.

Over the last few years he has had nothing but impeccable releases on some of the most influential imprints like Planet  Rhythm, Say What?,  Trau-ma, Liberta Music, and many more. Outside of the studio he is one of the founding members of our own Cognition Events and a key member of the Los Angeles underground community.

Although considered a breakthrough artist in recent times, Rudosa has been a standout talent for a commendable period in underground circles. Since first announcing his arrival on the scene over a decade ago, he has carved out a definitive sonic palette that has understandably brought its fair share of kudos from his peers.

Not unfamiliar with the heights of Beatport’s top-charting territories - with footholds inside the top ten and top five respectively; Rudosa has consistently remained in the forefront thanks to the support of some of the industry’s most-respected advocates. Having amassed releases with benchmark labels like Suara, Noir Music, We Are The Brave and many others, his work is commonplace among the touring playlists of Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, Pan-Pot, Sam Paganini, Amelie Lens, Charlotte de Witte, Maceo Plex, Luigi Madonna Carl Cox and many more.

Understandably, with the biggest names in techno wholeheartedly supporting your music, it has ultimately led to growth in exposure for Rudosa far beyond the confines of his native Manchester, the UK and even Europe. Most recently, an international tour in which he found himself gracing many new locations including India, a domain well-known for its love of robust underground techno music.

Rudosa is also beginning to venture into new realms of musical exploration and embracing other elements of the industry; most notably, his newfound imprint - ‘Moments In Time’ - which focuses on trance-inducing techno and promises a catalogue of sensory experiences. Combined with several releases in the pipeline with the biggest stables in his field, its fair to say that Rudosa is well on his way to becoming an instrumental figure within the ever-popular world of global techno music. At his current trajectory, it’s only a matter of time until he joins the ranks of those whose support has been a pivotal part of unleashing his raw talent into the universe.
