This Summer's first release on Expand Records is presented with an excellent selection of four remixes
for earlier released tracks by Quadrat Beat - "Blackjack" and "Hollywood".

Firstly we would like to draw your attention to two remixes for "Blackjack" from Blazer and Shockillaz.
Both of them are very energetic and melodious. Blazer created a nice, clear and quite hard tech-funk rhythm, which
will energise everything around you whilst playing it. Shockillaz continues to do classical breaks emulating his
trademark tunes! Good bass line, touch of progressive & good action throughout makes it a superb example
of a quality product.

On the flip, two versions of "Hollywood" from Kid Digital & Seth Vogt have been remixed & the guys have done a great job
creating two beautiful tracks instead. Seth's remix is just in time for summer - bright and sunny. It combines easy listening,
amazing melody & positive emotions.
Kid's part this time is presented as a mid-tempo remix. An absolutely professionally made very powerful track.
Produced with a romantic and disco mood, clear and very pumping beat. It brings fun and love to any party.

The  6th  record from the label, that just started this year, is presented by Latvian producer Quadrat Beat.
Two good quality tracks  are a great experience for new skool breaks & definitely brings fun 
 to your next weekend parties. 
On the main side, you will find  "Chasing Stars". This is a funky motion track with   
soft beats, followed by dirty bass, including a splash of a lovely lady's vocals, giving us the feel that this track is really  light and 
easy listening. 
On the flip, is a tune with the name "Good Life". Quadrat Beat has created it to make people dance for sure. 
A nice and clear tech-funk trip, very positive & progressive melody, bits of acid motives, fiery MC vocal and of course

Drkwtr's production style is not regimented to any one genre in particular, however he tends towards fusing elements of Jazz and Funk in all his songs, often either upbeat and dark, or smooth and uplifting.

At the turn of the 21st Century, Breakbeat music had become a very successful style which combined many trends and their musical elements, yet it still remained an independent genre.  At this time, the pair of agents reached the highlight of their great mission.
They explored different avenues, each starting extremely well and with their circle of followers growing day by day. In 2012, another activist of the breaks movement was invited by agent K to join them and he became agent MD. "Hailing from the future EP" is the 10th release under Expand and is presented by two most successful Latvian producers Kondrashov & Quadrat Beat.
Kondrashov's "Chimerical" is a monster track for the even the most loaded dancefloors.  An incredible and extremely groovy tune with clear tech-funk rhythm, hard beats and tender bass surrounded by a chime acid melody to get you high.  
"Danger Zone" by Quadrat Beat is the next tune presented on this EP. A very attractive intro and an oriental acapella just tease you before you get into the zone. What glorious breaks there is here - warm, pumping and rich. This very well balanced and a full-bodied track will burn up this winter.
The 3rd track on this Jubilee release is collaboration between both producers. Freestylers present new single “The Coming Storm” on Rub A Duck 

The Freestylers haven’t slowed down since their first releases on the Rub A Duck imprint. Their singles “Frozen”, recorded with Joshua Steele a.k.a. Flux Pavillion and “Over You”, which featured Ami Carmine, all reaped high acclaim and now the original dons of breakbeat are back with a vengeance and about to release the first single “The Coming Storm” from their forthcoming album about to drop this summer.  

After a 15-year career the Freestylers have covered a full 360 degrees in the bass music genre, having played all the biggest festivals and most talked about nightclubs around the world, even the quintessentially British music show, Top of The Pops. With their first four artist albums "We Rock Hard", "Pressure Point", “Raw as F**k” and “Adventures in Freestyle” notched tightly to their belt, the duo was voted Best Band by Music Magazine, toured with Lenny Kravitz on his American Woman tour, rocked a crowd of 30,000 at Glastonbury Festival 1999, performed at MTV’s Times Square Millenium Party and played Big Day Out 2005 - it is clear that these guys have had one big adventure so far.

Through early tracks like “B-Boy Stance”, “Ruffneck” and “Warning”, their music progressed to seminal tunes like “Punks”, “Boom Blast”, “Fasten Your Seat-Belts”, “Painkiller” and more recently “Cracks”. In addition to their status as underground heroes, they have gained commercial success with their huge global hit “Push Up” and have had their music featured in TV and film, including the hugely successful comedy film Zoolander. 

And now, after two years in the studio, it’s fair to say Matt Cantor and Aston Harvey are about to launch a veritable assault on the music scene with the single release of their new album’s title track “The Coming Storm”. "The Coming Storm" takes the fusion of dub and jungle to another level with its warrior charged sensibility. Being a collaboration with Stereo:Type and featuring the moody and melodic vocals of Takura (of Flashing Lights/Chase and Status fame) the track has all the hallmarks of a classic Freestylers sound, but ramped up for the new era, including massive remixes by Ed Solo and Sound Avtar. It has already received support from El Hornet, Bassnectar, Eddy Temple Morris, Mista Jam and Flux Pavillion. Prepare yourself for the coming storm!

Hello, I'm Slava. I've been making all types of electronic music since 2002. Though I was born in Russia, I now call Prague, Czech Republic my home.

From 2006 to 2013, I was known as Breakzhead. I was making nu skool breaks music and running a record label called Subtribe Records. We had lots of great artists and our records often appeared in the Beatport Breaks Top10 list. I was lucky enough to share the scene with big names such as The Freestylers, Meat Katie, Freq Nasty, and many others.

In 2014, things changed. I started a new music project called Cogun, investing more time in Drum & Bass music. I brought out a few records on labels like Mindtech and Onset Audio. But, after taking nearly a five-year break and gathering lots of unfinished music, I realized I didn't want to be limited by one music genre or style.

So, on May 31, 2020, I kicked off Cogun Music. It's my own record label and it’s all about sharing my new music without getting stuck in one genre.
