Earthen Sea is the experimental ambient/techno solo project of Jacob Long.  He began releasing Earthen Sea material during the early 2000s. Released on limited-edition cassettes and CD-Rs, some of his earliest material utilized violin, tape decks, and keyboards to create eerie soundscapes.
In 2014, taking a more beat oriented approach, the "Mirage" EP was released on the Lovers Rock imprint.  This release was followed by the project's first full-length "Ink"which appeared on Lovers Rock in 2015. A digital EP titled "The Sun Will Rise" was released by Nicolas Jaar's Other People in 2016. Following a move to Brooklyn, Long released "An Act of Love," his debut on Kranky, in 2017. Two years later, the same label released his third album, "Grass and Trees," which presented a stripped-down, skeletonized version of dub techno.  The soon to be released album "Ghost Poems" will be his third release for Kranky.

Human Lessons #059 - Earthen Sea

The summer of 2008, the Echo Inspectors are touring Germany. One of their stops lands them in Koln, after getting their fix of record shopping at Kompakt they would meet up at a local bar with Pawas who just remixed their latest record. Joining the guys for a mid afternoon beer would be local producer and friend of Pawas, Adam Kroll.

Fast forward to 2020 and Adam would reappear on the radar as Adam K.Roll with a fresh new dub sound, completely different to the minimal techno records of the mid 2000’s. This fresh take on dub would capture the interest of the Echo Inspectors.

Many DM’s later would lead to Adam producing five fresh tunes for Primary Colours.

Trying to describe Adam’s music is not easy. Adam seamlessly blends the sounds of Dub Techno, Ambience, Electronica, Jamaican Dub and an infusion of summer island sounds.

Primary Colours has the honour of re-releasing one of their favourite Adam K.Roll tunes, Into The Ocean, initially released digitally on Adam’s on Bandcamp page, Into the Ocean has been reborn on wax. We loved it so much that we got the Echo Inspectors to remix it into a formidable dub techno groover.

Kick back, sip on a fine whiskey, light a little number and immerse your aural senses to the sounds of The Final Call.

Ezra Collins is back with his new EP, Natchez Dub. The American producer is a regular on Colour In Music, and he's known for his deep and underground sound. 
This EP is no exception, with three original tracks and one remix. Collins' production is always top-notch; detailed, groovie and deep and his tracks are sure to get you moving. 
The remix on the EP comes from Italian producer Marcus Raute. Raute is also known for his Deep House sound, and his remix of "Natchez Dub" is a classic house track with a modern twist.

A voyage into the stars has been possible for eons from emotions alone. Simply by closing our eyes, we can travel to distant dimensions and exotic worlds. The imagination, as we call it, is a tool that can be used to unlock the endless bounds of the universe. Santiago Nino and his latest collaborative work with Natural Life Essence, “A Voyage to Arcturus,” is a soul-warming homage to the original novel by David Lindsay. It’s as if the 1920’s sci-fi story was morphed into an ambient audioscape, a spiritual array of intimate drone and astral instrumentations. This carefully layered passion project is a breathtaking dive into the very core of existence itself; it is, perhaps, the essence of meditation. Through cheerful electronica and the hypnotic sounds of nature, these four tracks are meant to help you close your eyes and embark on that very same journey.
