South Africa's Dirkie Coetzee and Namibia's Pierre Pienaar are not only great friends but also musical brothers and are about to perform a joint Open-to-Close at Dirkie's club night We Are Trance in Johannesburg at time of writing! They share a love of driving and uplifting trance music, so this collaboration is exactly what you'd expect and hope for - soaring melodies, pounding beats and plenty of euphoria. In case you were wondering, the title is a Fijian word that means 'to bring life' or 'to bring fire'.

Talla 2XLC is an expert on reworking trance classics and bring them up to date for the new generation of trance lovers. His brand new Technoclub Retro release is his collaboration with DJ Buzz for the seminal track Whales. The original track released on Poison records back in 1998 was co-produced by the legendary Torsten Stenzel who is behind countless trance classics. Talla 2XLC adds his pounding tough metallic kick, rough energetic driving basslines and thunderous percussion while on top at the first half he teases us with short extracts of the unforgettable melody. 23rd December 2017 sees two of Germany’s finest artists, M.in and Gunman, join forces for a special three-track EP on Mar-T’s acclaimed Wow! Recordings, entitled ‘Hands Up’.

Although this is the first time the two talented DJ/producers have released on Wow! Recordings (either individually or as a duo), they have previously linked up for labels including: Tiger Records, New Violence Records, Wasted People, Yellow Tail and most recently, Green Velvet’s Cajual Records.

Kicking off the EP is title-named track, ‘Hands Up’, a six-minute offering that blends trippy, high-pitch vocal snippets with various stuttering drums, steady claps and other Tech-House elements to great effect. Leading on is ‘Xone’, a deep-groover that maintains a steady 4/4 rhythm throughout, as spoken word samples are scattered alongside off-kilter effects and tidy percussive elements.

‘America’ closes the EP, a bass-heavy number that once again sees the German pair utilise chopped and screwed vocal snippets and other obscure pad tones to create a dark, brooding and infectious groove that is made for the clubs in Europe where they regularly perform in.

‘Hands Up’ EP is available exclusively via Beatport on 23rd December and everywhere else two weeks later.

Cold Blue’s ascension into a Trance superstar over the last two years has been nothing short of extraordinary. He has consistently delivered release after release for the world’s top Trance labels including Subculture, Kearnage, WAO138, Pure Trance and FSOE, as well as compiling and mixing the Subculture 2018 CD, which was a 70 minute club mix containing all his own productions. It is momentum like this that has now put Cold Blue in the Top 10 Trance artists on Beatport achieving three #1’s and countless Top Ten positions.
 
As a DJ his ever-increasing popularity is reflected in his touring schedule. Debut festival performances at EDC Las Vegas, Dreamstate So Cal, Tomorrowland, Airbeat One, alongside arena shows in Australia, the United States and the UK have propelled him into a position amongst the Trance elite.

2019 will see Cold Blue shift up another couple of gears again and his studio has already gone into complete overdrive. This year big releases are forthcoming on Subculture whilst there are also whispers of a debut artist album. It’s these artistic capabilities that have cemented Cold Blue as a premier league artist who has a massive part to play in shaping the future of Trance Music.
