The idea of our guest mix series - 'Music They Love' - is for DJ's and producers to delve into their record collection and put together a mix of records that's meant a lot to them in the past as well as the present!

Here's what he has to tell us about his mix:

"I've picked a lot more current stuff for this mix - although there are some classic Wah Wah favourites thrown in like the opening track by Foxy which Dom Servini gave to me many moons ago. There are a fair few bits I've got through Cold Cuts, it seemed like the right thing to do. And I've put one or two of my own edits in for good measure. I found you guys through the Harvey Sutherland release (tipped off to it and you, in fact, by Dave Koor), so that had to go in and we've finished off with something that's been a bit of a smasher for me this summer, my re-edit of Soul II Soul. Hope you enjoy it."

Scrimshire // Music They Love #1

Brisbane-based Centre Source Records is the newest label shining a light on Australia's growing underground talent. After recently putting on a host of successful nights, which have featured the likes of Funkineven, Greg Beato & Mic Mills, their popularity is going from strength to strength.

Fresh from releasing his debut EP on the label, we were delighted when producer @Jawgoh put together a guest mix for us. We also caught up with Kristian Streiner, the man behind it all, to find out what inspired him to start the label.

We welcomed Flexi Cuts main man @relative for our third guest mix. We asked him to tell us a little bit about his mix:

“My first idea was to make a selection of 45-50 minutes long… but the more I dig, the more I realized I had to put some of me in the mix and let the vibe take control. So… i spent almost 2 hours recording. It’s all live mix, driving turntables, choosing records and drinking espresso in my store-basement studio.”

We welcome Peter Painter for our 4th guest mix!

Peter has been a collector and fan of electronic music, in its many forms, since the early 90's, spending many hours looking for new and interesting sounds, both in London, and his home town, Reading. Having regained his enthusiasm and love for house and techno again in the last ten years, his ear for good music is certainly easy to see.
