The vocal on this is so beautiful, so ethereal, and all I can think is GLITCH IT UP. Really happy with how this one came out though, it makes me feel like I'm cliff diving off into the glassy Mediterranean waters, and then like partying with robot dolphins and sea horses and shit. Hello again, for the final time this year.

Presenting the first of two holiday treats for you (the second will be the GDJB Classic Showcase next week) - a special three hour journey for Afterhours.fm's End of Year Countdown celebrations.

Having a three hour timeframe allowed me the opportunity to really express the journey aspect of a set, being able to build things up slowly from the beginning. It's difficult to create one of these sets in a short period, and I'm grateful to have the opporunity to go beyond a normal length studio set to do so.

After about a month of digging, finding, compiling and editing, I managed to get the set completed during Christmas week; in between preparations for the open to close solo sets in New York and Miami.

It is a mix I hope that you will enjoy and appreciate for some time to come, and for those of you not attending a gig on New Year's Eve, it can maybe be your audio of choice to welcome 2015.

Big thanks as always to the AH.fm crew for allowing me to contribute to this yearly event. I think it's the ninth year in a row now that I've been involved. And as always, a huge appreciation to all of you for the love and support throughout the year.

Let's hope we have an incredible 2015 together.

We sometimes forget that music is cyclical. As a new generation of clubbers discover sounds for the first time, they mistakenly believe the decades old genres are somehow a new phenomenon. The styles we attach to the terms techno, trance, progressive, and house are moving targets at best — words that are now redefined on an almost weekly basis.

Cycles is Max Graham’s “Yearly Snapshot” of his own musical journey, a collection representing the natural progression in his taste. As always with Cycles the elements of melody shine through this classically mixed compilation (like Graham’s own ‘Redemption’ and his remix of Solid Stone and Jennifer Rene’s haunting vocal tune ‘Not Enough’), but much like his successful career over so many years the mix takes a wide arc of influence as it moves from Tim Penner’s lovely piano opening to Alex Di Stefano’s tough as nails “Black Panther” and back down to a perfectly fitting closing track by Gai Barone entitled “Psycles” (written exclusively for this mix).

Solid Stone, a mainstay in Graham’s set list, has no less than three unreleased tracks. Also making two appearances is rising star Thomas Vink whose production style effortlessly combines organic Techno beats with beautiful melody and emotion. The next release on my 'Of Unsound Mind' label is from Brazil's Digitaria! These tracks have definitely been the highlights of my sets over the past few months..You may recognise 'Girl' from my recent Mixmag 'InSession' mix.

Here's a little info on Digitaria:
Daniela Caldellas and Daniel Albinati are the names behind Digitaria. They come from Brazil and started playing together in 2004, making dance music experiments with a big range of influences, creating beautiful and unusual tunes. The philosophy behind their music never changed with the years — electronic music should have no boundaries, creativity and feelings are the only things that matter.

Rachael Starr gave Dave a demo copy of this song in 2003. Dave immediately loved it but didn't really think Josh was going to so he never played it for him. But then one day almost two years later, Dave got up the balls to play it for Josh and, lo and behold, he loved it. So, in 2005 Gabriel & Dresden did a remix for this song which helped get it signed to Positiva Records as well as Ultra Music. 

One of our best-loved remixes to this day.
