Recognised in the 2025 UK Songwriting Contest with a 5-Star Rating ⭐ and a Commended Entry Award 🏅 (Lyrics Only), this piece stands as the first question of the cycle: who is “she,” when the world begins to shape her?
Originally written in Chinese , the song begins with the chinese nursery rhyme Two Tigers, sung to the melody of Frère Jacques. Children laugh at its absurdity : one tiger without eyes, another without a tail ,yet innocence makes it feel natural.
Here, that fractured image becomes a mirror for the fractures of adulthood.
Growing up turns into a ritual of self-erasure: we run faster than chains, chase numbers and fragments, weld our eyes to the cold blue glow, and even learn to silence our own heartbeat.
The lyric builds from quiet conformity into open defiance. The chorus ascends from Tiger to King :first raw instinct, then reclaimed dignity:
I am the Tiger — tearing through the dawn of this wasteland.
I am the King — chained, yet unbroken in spirit.
The song ends where childhood once began: with Frère Jacques, a melody that has crossed centuries and cultures.
Once a lullaby, it becomes here a haunting refrain for adulthood — posing one last, unsettling question:

These songs tell the truth about flashbacks, panic, dissociation, shame, numbness, and the long road toward healing. They speak to the exhaustion of being told to move on, the courage it takes to stay, and the resilience required to keep going when the weight feels unbearable.

This album is for survivors, veterans, and anyone carrying pain in silence.
