The Young Lords is the encounter between Alex Keren, soul/groove artist (Underdog Records) and Al, leader and bassist of HandCart.
The former is strongly influenced by American and British Black Music. His musical approach is strongly influenced by Soul and Rhythm and Blues, lending him a surprising ease in drawing up lush and addictive melodies.
The latter comes from the world of reggae. His band, HandCart, is musically and creatively present on the international scene through a variety of productions and several successful tours with Jamaican artists (Mighty Diamonds, Pablo Moses, Morgan Heritage…).
Together, both artists have managed to blend their musical worlds to bring us a first album full of warm and soulful sounds.
