24 HRS
A lot can change in a 24 hour period. Mood, life, events, relationships. This song goes through some of those back and forth emotions I was experiencing. Sometimes when everything can feel so wrong all it takes is a day or a moment for it rebound. 
This was the very first thing we started the day we got to the cabin. Neither of us had created any new music in months and we were both feeling that dread that maybe we couldn't do it anymore. Maybe we lost the spark. Maybe we should give up on our dreams... HELL NAH SON WE GOT THAT IN THE BAG LETS GO

This is a love song about that special someone in your life. Trace was making the beat for this while I was outside writing to a different track and when I came inside I was already full of energy from writing Sunflower and this one flowed out as well. My voice was thrashed from all the rapping and singing and forest fire smoke in the air but that didn't stop me from going in on this song until we had the verses and hooks dialed in. "lets fix the pitches later". The vibe was there and it was a blast to make. Cherry Fox blessed us with her vocals on this song as well.

BETTER FOR (HOLD ON)
This song is in a 6/8 meter instead of the typical 4/4 that most hip hop and music lives in. This gave it a different feel from the start and the flow and words just came to me. Trace pulled the beat out of thin air and it felt very ethereal and we were really cruising on creativity when this song started. The message is about knowing theres better out there and to just keep striving for it. I really felt connected to a higher power when making this song. I still get goosebumps thinking about it.

Trace started making this beat the morning after the forest fire started. He was up before me and by the time I had some coffee and sat down with him the general vibe was there. I just sort of freestyled the first verse and hook ideas and after a couple hours the song was done. This song is about some of the pains of growing up and getting through the dark times with friends, music, and substances that made everything seem a little bit better.

INTRO
We have our narrator introducing the theme of the album as Solar Rich, before the ukulele comes in followed by my verse. This was the first track we completed at the cabin. It set the tone for the rest of the trip and shaped what the album became. We had no previous intentions or ideas for what we were going to create out there other than we hadn't been able to make music for far too long and we were going into this together. I think it turned out pretty well

WE ARE SOLAR RICH. This one felt so surreal in the moment and still does. It came together so smoothly. It was our last day at the cabin we had already started all of the other songs. I told trace I wanted a beat with some cool vocal chops and he DELIVERED. We put this song together in what felt like no time at all, everything just felt right. This is about feeling the dream and inspiration so authentically it can't be denied. We got our talented friend Cherry Fox to sing on it as well and her vocals add an incredible layer to close off this album. I hope you can feel as solar rich as we do.

REFLEX
This process of this song was a wild one. It started out with just playing two chords on the uke. I used my water bottle full of ice as an interesting shaker/layer that Trace then filtered and threw effects on. It had a darker trance vibe and I had fully written an entire song to it. I then had knee surgery and was listening back to it with a new mindset and heard a completely different vibe. I ended up rewriting the whole thing and it is one of my favorites off the album. Sometimes you have to go through multiple phases to find the one you like the best. That doesn't mean the first ones were a waste of time, they were the path that got you to where you were going. Trust your instinct. This song is about living off reflex.
