A keyboard masterpiece by the greatest English composer Henry Purcell (1659 - 1695). Performed by Anton Batagov (piano) in 2013.
This piece could have been the ultimate soundtrack for any postmodern movie.
Michael Nyman's music from THE DRAUGHTSMAN'S CONTRACT written 30 years ago is a contemporary meditation on this GROUND. I love Nyman's version but I think the original Purcell's piece sounds even fresher today ...
