Three years have passed since ANTIME’s first label compilation was released and a lot has happened during that time. After putting out »V01« as a digital release on Christmas eve in 2011, we took things a bit further by releasing our second label showcase and Fontarrian’s stunning debut »vlv« on vinyl while Kalipo’s remarkable first LP was issued on wax and CD. We didn’t give up on digital releases though: Recently, the Brazilian eccentric ˆL_ and Bavarian youngster Unifono have put out strong debuts, exclusively available online. Add to that an abundance of remixes, live sets and videos and you get an idea of our collective vision: We celebrate the diversity of the media at hand and the spectrum of sonic arts with every single release.

We’re Antime. We’re everywhere.

This Berlin-based netlabel has evolved into an international network. V03 is the third instalment of our compilation series and our most diverse release this far. 20 acts from all over the world – Germany, Austria, Italy, Estonia, USA, Mexico and Brazil – showcase their artistic visions over the course of more than one and a half hours. While all of them represent a unique style, there is one common denominator that connects them: They aren’t afraid of bending the rules, eventually breaking them if necessary. From well-known Antime affiliates such as Kalipo, Midimúm, Spur, Sebastian Dali, Attune, ˆL_ and Fontarrian to up-and-coming regional acts like Golden Diskó Ship and Occupanther or promising young talents from near and far such as Lola’s Bad, AAAA, Aplysia, Owlet, Inox, Cuki, Underspreche, Macajey, Both Hands, ModeMaps and Mono.Mental – they all pursue their artistic goals with the sort of unrelenting passion we are looking for.

Let us go then you and I… to where ugly farmers drown kittens in weighted down sacks but always go back afterwards to reclaim their bricks; to where lonely drunks die in pubs and no one notices until the corpses slump from their barstools; to where hipster nightclubs burn down to the ground mysteriously in the dead of night; to where court injunctions and restraining orders aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on… and to where a malign presence stalks the darkness at the edge of Sheffield.

The Eccentronic Research Council’s fabulous fourth album, Johnny Rocket, Narcissist And Music Machine…I’m Your Biggest Fan, released on the Fat White Family’s Without Consent label on Monday May 18th 2015, is written from the persuasive point of view of an obsessional fan of a local band – The Moonlandingz, who gig around the fictional South Yorkshire district of Valhalla Dale – and how this fan’s behaviour tips over into stalking and then plummets dramatically into something far worse.

ERC are the mysterious Dean Honer (All Seeing I), the manic Adrian Flanagan (Kings Have Long Arms) and the magnificent Maxine Peake (Shameless, Silk) and together  have created something which will target your head, your heart, your hips and the medial epicondyle of your humerus (or your funny bone) in equal measures.

It’s a record for our times: a swirling, brightly lit, adrenaline surging, fairground carousel ride of gleaming synth pop, narcotic psych rock, bewitching spoken word and demented avant garde electronics. Like a Chaucerian epic retold by David Peace for a music hall located in Hell, it looks at obsessional behaviour and how this is fueled by our need to document every passing moment on social media. It also deals with the legacy of Thatcher, which is stronger now that she is dead than it was when she was alive. And it also reaffirms the fact that music is one of the only obsessions in life worth having.

The album also sees ERC team up with Lias Saoudi & Saul Adamczewski of South London’s The Fat White Family, who ably play the role of the The Moonlandingz, the fictional band at the heart of the story

Preceding the album on March 16th, The ERC digitally release an EP of tracks by said fictional band, The Moonlandingz – lead track, ‘Sweet Saturn Mine’ will feature on the ERC album.

An era is drawing to a close: my last show with this incarnation of my band playing music from 'The Inheritors' is this Sunday 15th November in London. 

So it seemed like a good time to exhibit these 3 tools that have been in the back of a drawer full of archaeological remains since 2012. As well as the original antisocial late night urban field recordings that made 'Sky Burial' there are tool versions I made to play in DJ sets of 'The Caterpillar's Intervention' and 'Rannoch Dawn'.
