Classic 00s Hard Trance Closing Set - Vinyl Only - Small Trees @ The Empire

Megabyte was the finest Hard House event in Essex during the late 90s and early 2000s. It brought everyone together once a month for an absolute stomp fest of a rave. As Pete Blackett, everyone’s favourite Megabyte DJ (probably! 😊), has come out of retirement and dusted off his vinyl and decks to give us BB4Ls a special Megabyte themed guest mix, we thought it only fair to join him in this new mini-series….

This mix includes tunes that would have been played at the events back in the day. Big Ry has used his personal vinyl collection to create this, picking tunes that are only available on vinyl, including some of the rare gems from that time. It follows the flow of a Megabyte night, from chunky warm up, to fun & bouncy, then some thumping stompers, ending on the banging anthems that would close the show!!

We have agreed to withhold the track list for the initial period, to recreate that feeling from back in the day of not knowing what you’re going to hear in each DJs set, with the excitement you’d get hearing a little sample or stab from the new tune as it came in….

Megabyte & the Mysterious Monkeys: Big Ry [90s 00s Hard House]

Recorded live at Timewarp Saturday 12th April 2025 using an ambient recorder in order to try and capture the whole atmosphere, Timewarp are happy to present “The Live Sets”. As with anything live there can be discrepancies in sound and these recordings are no different but they have been mastered in order to try and provide the best audio experience we can. Timewarp is a vinyl only night based in Bournemouth, UK showcasing local talent and legends from the past 30 years bringing you the best in Trance, Hard Trance, Techno and Hard House.

We conclude the audio build up to our 2nd Birthday with the final set from our last event. Brought to you by Timewarp Resident Dave Scott, he gave the crowd exactly what they wanted: “More power for the last hour!”

Rolling back the years, this set is reminiscent of his Country Club days. If you thought his Hard House set from last year was good then check this out.
