I was born and raised in San Francisco. I began playing clubs in the early 70's. I’ve pretty much played every dive in the SF Bay area during the 70‘s thru the late 90‘s. I have played a lot of nice places with nice people too. 

I am now semi-retired from the glamorous life of starvation and homelessness, that being a working musician offers. I have a day gig but, I work the night in my meager home studio to spread the word that ...

Moving Castles has been producing glorious power pop since 2011's acclaimed Twin Daggers EP, which scored the band much critical attention and landed their music in major television shows such as New Girl, Pretty Little Liars and Shameless and others based on the strength of songs such as "Warhol" and "Heroin". Their latest offering, 2015's The Want EP, consisting of four songs that will be on the band's first full-length album due out later this year, finds Moving Castles moving further toward the spirit of their vintage power-pop and punk influences The Clash, Bowie, XTC, Cheap Trick and ELO while still managing to remain lyrically self-aware and sonically modern.

Recorded in 2014 at home and in various living rooms and bedrooms across Texas, The Want EP's sound has a surprising level of sophistication and polish for its non-existent budget and DIY production. Songwriter John H weaves tales of quarter-life crisis that harbor all of the requisite downer feelings of the mid-20's: jealousy, disillusionment, excess and existential dread over a bed of crunchy indie rock guitars and utterly unshakeable hooks. The demo for the title track “The Want” was featured in the 2014 film Afternoon Delight.

Named a top 100 SXSW Artist by NPR Music, Twin Cities based Collapsing Stars have been steadily making a name for themselves throughout the American west. Blending folk, blues and Americana sounds with beautifully interlaced cello and vocal harmonies, comparisons range from Iron & Wine and the Lumineers, to Nick Drake and early Bon Iver. In the last few years they’ve earned producer credits on a record for Rhymesayers Entertainment, played a showcase at the renowned Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles and performed for over 120K people at Red Bull Crashed Ice. Their debut record titled ‘2012’ received critical acclaim including praise from Dan Wilson, the Semisonic frontman who has co-written songs for the Dixie Chicks, John Legend, Weezer, and Adele’s 2011 hit Someone Like You. They were named a top 100 SXSW artist by NPR Music out of 2000 showcasing acts, and in response to pandemic related touring restrictions, venue closures and cancellations in 2020 and 2021, the group launched a new web series titled Forest Folk Sessions – intimate acoustic performances in a breathtaking natural setting. Featured on NPR’s All Songs Considered, their sophomore album “Chapter” is out now!

Jonathan Grass nasce nell'autunno del 2010 a Cremona, dall'incontro di Elmo, Sante, Jami e Ranca, tutti con esperienze più o meno durature in altre band alle spalle, che si trovano a condividere la passione per il rock alternativo, in particolare per le sonorità tipiche degli anni '90.
Nel giro di pochi mesi, e un paio di concerti nel 2011, iniziano a lavorare su una piccola pubblicazione promozionale con una selezione del repertorio sino ad ora accumulato.
Nasce così "One Shot, One Kill - The Arcipelago Session", un demo di 8 brani registrati in presa diretta in 3 ore scarse sul palco del Circolo Arci "Arcielago" di Cremona, rifinito e mixato presso lo studio "La Maison" del cremonese Fabio "Flex" Guarneri, esperto ingegnere audio, produttore e polistrumentista.
Il demo, gratuito, è stato presentato il 25 Novembre 2011 sul prestigioso palco del Fillmore di Cortemaggiore (PC), in occassione della settima edizione del "Cremonapalloza Rock Fest", dove hanno condiviso il palco con Hijackers On The Hip e Bud Spencer Blues Explosion.


Jonathan Grass was formed in the autumn of 2010 in Cremona by Elmo, Sante, Jami and Ranca, all with previous experiences with other bands, who shared their passion for alternative rock, especially the typical vibe of '90s.
In a few months, and a couple of gigs during 2011, they began to work on a small recording, with a selection of their current repertoire.
They went on to record "One Shot, One Kill - The Arcipelago Session", an 8 tracks long demo, recorded live in about 3 hours on the stage of Circolo Arci "Arcipelago" in Cremona, engineered and mixed at studio "La Maison" by Fabio "Flex" Guarneri, seasoned sound engineer, producer and multi-instrumentalist, also from Cremona.
The demo has been released free of charge on November 25th 2011 on the prestigious stage of the Fillmore club in Cortemaggiore (PC), during the 7th edition of the "Cremonapalloza Rock Fest", sharing the stage with Hijackers On The Hip and Bud Spencer Bules Explosion.
