Budots is a frenetic, shrill 140bpm electronic mutation that originates from the Mindanao archipelagos of the Philippines. It sounds like a scooter engine connecting to your bluetooth speaker.

From being clumsily co-opted by Rodrigo Duterte in the run-up to the Philippines’ 2016 elections, to its spotlight via Manila Community Radio's seminal Boiler Room in 2023, Budots is Power. Budots is foundational to our Redline sound.

DJ Love founded the Budots dance group Camusboyz in 2004. For him and the Camusboyz, Budots was a way to stay out of trouble - to get kids off the streets in his hometown of Davao City. His mix for us is rammed full of the iconlastic joy of Budots - slapstick chants, animal samples, and synths so shrill they’ll tickle your spine.
