92elm: Yeah, that’s actually where my name comes from. The house I grew up in as a child was at 92 Elm Street. It was this really old pre-revolutionary war home in Massachusetts, and had a lot of interesting quirks to it. A lot of my fondest memories are from there. When I started releasing under 92elm, I wanted to put myself back into the creative mind-state that I had as a kid, where I would just build Legos and draw all day, and not care about what other people thought.

The second release for Kognitiv Records 'Okipa' comes from the label boss DeVante and features an absolute weapon of a remix by none other than Berlin's Hannes Bieger.

'Okipa' is a Mandan tribe ceremony where young men officially become warriors. They would undergo what was one of the worlds most painful initiation rituals designed to test extreme endurance, strength and courage. DeVante captures the emotion and torment of this ritual in this track flirting between the steps of the ceremony, toying with the suspense, strength, silence and pain as the track develops.

Hannes Bieger's remix is as tough as it is melodic. His remix stays true to taking the listener on a journey through sound and has emotions running high. Straight into the crate for all your upcoming club sets as this will be a go to record for all dance floors.

Kognitiv Records will donate a percentage of profits from every release to a different mental health charity in an effort to create further awareness and provide support to people suffering from mental illness.
