Lukas Horst, better known by his stage name, 'Night Talk‘ is an electronic music producer and DJ from Switzerland. He started producing under the Night Talk moniker in 2012 combining atmospheres, elements of classic house and techno and synthesizers to a unique and futuristic soundscape. 

Together with the Night Talk project he founded his label AYM, where he was able to release his first EPs featuring collaborations and remixes by Lake People or Louisahhh. After a release on Diynamic Music in 2014 and Solomun playing Night Talk tracks at festivals and in his famous Boiler Room set, Night Talk has been introduced to a larger audience. More releases followed on labels such as Suara, MoBlack, Atlant, Moodmusic, Definition:Music, JEAHMON! and of course AYM.

Night Talk @ Melodic Therapy #074 - Switzerland

Stepping up next on the prolific Last Night On Earth label is rising Mexican talent Issac. Having been supported in the past by label founder Sasha, Guy Gerber and Dixon (to name just a few), it’s no surprise to see his hypnotic dancefloor tracks being released on LNOE.

Issac begins the EP with ‘Clavel’, a percussive, driving track where stripped-back drum sounds combine their elegant pulses to form a complexity of entrancing polyrhythms. Crisp, rolling 909 Toms bring a sense of melody with their powerful tones while contrasting against shimmering ride cymbals and a firm, floor-filling kick drum. Before long, the expanse of drums break away for a truly euphoric uplift of oscillating synths and heroic vocal pads, forming a momentous drop, somewhere between classic trance and hard-hitting techno.

‘It’s An Extreme Life’ delivers more complex rhythms, where layers of recurrent guitar scratches congregate amongst twinkling bell sounds and trippy, glitched out drum tops. The ten-minute composition builds gradually up to a minimalistic breakdown that exposes the harmonic rhythms of the track’s epicentre.

Issac closes the record with ‘Rimel’, a fusion of acid-house era drum machines (like the infamous Roland TR-727 congas), blend amongst the nip-tuck-tight pulse of driving 4/4 kicks and swaying shaker loops. Fusing in anthemic synth lead lines and massive, echoing chord stabs, ‘Rimel’ closes the record with true harmonic bliss.

Collective States - Hive Garden Party - Recorded Live - 29/08/20

Collective States (individually known to those in the know as Dan Reid & Gary Bennetton) are Southampton based melodic techno producers and label managers. 

After their debut single “Krypton” went top 20 on Beatport in early 2017, Collective States began a residency at UK club “Switch,” and had within a few short months, supported the likes of Carl Cox, Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones, Sasha, John Digweed, Joris Voorn, Hot Since 82, Annie Mac, Kolsch and Pete Tong. 
By their second release, Collective States immersive sound had started to turn heads, with “Planet Mongo” being picked up by Carl Cox & Monki for BBC Radio 1, as well as being supported widely by the likes of John Digweed, Groove Armada, Hot Since 82, James Zabiela, Eats Everything and Alan Fitzpatrick. 

With a hard drive full of unreleased material, Collective States have already penned tracks for future release on Hot Since 82’s & Alan Fitzpatrick’s label in 2018. As a popular golden figure once said “the possibility of successfully navigating an asteroid field is approximately 3,720 to 1” but the journey is just beginning for the duo from the South Coast.
