Having launched 2016 with his 'Octavia' EP, Lost & Found boss Guy J returns home to kick start 2017, with a new double-header born out of moments in time, inspiration and a quest for a specific sound. 

"MDQ is named after the airport code of Mar Del Plata in Argentina," says Guy. "I played there with John Digweed earlier this year at MUTE. It's a party on the beach and, for me, was the best I've been to in my life and not just as a DJ." 

MDQ beautifully recreates and projects the warmth of the sun, uplifting vibes and postive energy that Guy felt on the sand that day. Its melodic charm and passionate delivery lifts the listener, transporting them to that most southern of shores. 

Diagonal, on the flip, was born more out of necessity. "I needed something with a transitional feel for my sets. A track that would allow me to segue to the next part, up the tempo and deliver a more groovy and seductive magic." 

Another delicious brace from the Lost & Found boss and a perfect selection to soundtrack the new year.

An artist with sizeable success across his South American home, Juan Deminicis has been at the vanguard of the underground dance scene for a decade. Proton Music is therefore delighted to welcome him back with "Life on the Moon".

Hailing from the bustling, cosmopolitan Buenos Aries capital, Deminicis sought inspiration from a host of leading names including Nick Warren, James Zabiela and fellow countryman, Hernan Cattaneo. Quickly finding his feet in the clubs of his hometown and across the country, the Argentinean became an established figure with performances at Bahrein, Fruta and Club Nina.

In tandem, a production career has been no less impressive. Over 270 release credits can thus be found against the Juan Deminicis name for a plethora of high-calibre imprints including Click, Lost and Found and Sudbeat. Indeed, the "Babel" EP was a notable highlight for the Cattaneo led imprint in early 2016 as was August 2018's "Umbra" for Dutch label, Click Records.

Supported across the clubs of the world by leading lights that include Guy J, Nick Warren and John Digweed, Deminicis has been a regular on Proton Music with a 2012 debut alongside Pablo Acenso coming in the shape of "Downshifting"; the stunning "Behind the Sun" EP coming a year later. Remixed by Guy Mantzur, Khen and James Monro has kept Juan Deminicis at the cutting edge of underground dance. Returning in March 2018 to remix GMJ's "Push Through", we are privileged to welcome Juan Deminicis back to the label.

The title track is a beautifully crafted affair that evolves effortlessly over its near eight-minute voyage. Strong beat and cavernous bassline, coupled with offbeat shaker pattern, create an epic bouncing groove that lays the perfect foundation for a swathe of analogue melodies to shimmer and sparkle in freeform patterns. Full of dancefloor credentials, delay and reverb create a spacious effect that truly gives rise to "Life on the Moon".

Partner track, "Tao the King" immediately makes its mark with huge bouncing bassline and techno rhythm. Redolent in white-noise effects, a sublime motif filters into sonic range as an analogue lead fills the airwaves with crystal clarity and an updated retro vibe creates a series of textured layers that resonate with Vangelis and a rich sci-fi scoundscape. Hitting its stride in the third movement with detuned arpeggio, the resultant track is a modern sonic masterpiece.

With two new tracks forming a new musical landscape, Juan Deminicis can be rightfully proud of "Life on the Moon".

Harris Sgourdas better known as Blusoul in the electronic dance music circuit, originates from Athens, Greece. Leaning heavily towards dance music from his teenage years, his involvement with DJing gathered more strength with the music he started to collect of all the early House and Trance records of the 90's, at first playing them for his friends,and then on to stepping in to the spot light by appearing at small clubs in his home town, back in those years. Thereafter Harris took a short stint as radio producer with Blue Sky 107.2 FM.
After several years of honing his skills and a desire to breach musical and technological boundaries, made Blusoul to start composing and producing tracks, and pursue a formal degree in music technology, while on the side working with Virgin Mega Stores as a manager, yet always finding time to play at some of the well known clubs in Athens those years.
His first few releases such as - "Another Day" followed up by "World In A Shell" and "Flow EP" assuredly stamped his futuristic soundscapes on to clubland forever and since then there's been no looking back for the avant garde musician.
This self styled cutting edge performer, Progressive House and melodic Techno specialist has gone on to release with some of the best labels such Lost & Found, Movement Recordings, Juicebox  and seen massive support from heavy weights of the likes of John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J to name some.

Blusoul is all set to take in 2016 with a treasure trove of original releases and remix work with some of the best in the dance music industry.
