En esta edición y bajo el lema «Resilient Radio: in tough times, we thrive» , iradioUCAM ha colaborado en un programa de una hora realizado en castellano y en el que han unido sus voces 11 radios universitarias españolas. En este evento ARU participará junto con emisoras de Estados Unidos, Argentina, Colombia, Sudáfrica, Filipinas, Fiji, Finlandia o Australia.

CRD White House Special Report 2022. Free for college radio stations in the USA to download and play on the air. 

In recognition of World College Radio Day 2022, and on behalf of the College Radio Foundation, a group of students, staff, and faculty (19 in total) representing the medium of college radio from across the United States, visited the White House yesterday.

The visit was to meet with White House officials and interview them on issues that are of importance to the students. The students did all the interviewing and were able to meet with the following officials in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building:

Kamala Harris, Vice President of the United States – to discuss leadership, democracy, and the importance of journalism

Karine Jean-Pierre, Assistant to the President and White House Press Secretary – to discuss the news of the day and her role working with the media

Nick Conger, Senior adviser – to discuss climate change and energy policies

Bharat Ramamurti, Deputy Director for the National Economic Council – to discuss student loans, student debt, and college affordability

Sheila Nix, Chief of Staff, Department of Education – to discuss post-high school education, college affordability, and student loans

British singer/songwriter John Garrison has released his first solo album under his own name since 2009's Departures.

You may know Garrison as the bass player for James Blunt, or as a songwriter who has written for Robbie Williams, and played with Sting, Josh Groban and many others.

This December, Garrison is releasing his new album, Extinguisher. The album can be found on all streaming platforms.

New Music Faster caught up with John, and Rob Quicke interviewed him about his new album, and his experiences as a musician during the pandemic this year.

New Music Faster - John Garrison

In 1969, experimental music composer Alvin Lucier recorded his voice, played back the tape and re-recorded, played back that tape and re-recorded, and so on. After enough iterations, the resonant frequencies of the room reinforced themselves to the point of dominating the recorded sound.

This recording from 2021 is Nathan Moore doing the same thing, and with similar results. Iterations 2 - 20 were played through a stereo pair of PreSonus speakers and recorded by a Rode PodMic placed approximately 18" from each speaker.
