McHugh and McClerking opened their doors to the industry in late 2010. Gary McClerking had been performing for many years in the Chicago night scene & went on a stage tour with Grammy winning artist Chaka Khan. In 2014 he went on to win "The Voice" Chicago trials at the Rosemont Theatre. His family is also very well known in the Windy City for their musical talents & contributions. His sons and family in St. Louis and Melrose Park all are backing his constant journey.

Steven J. McHugh aka Steve J the Songwriter began writing poetry and hip hop back in the Tupac/MC Hammer era during the early 90's. Advised by his teachers & peers he quickly learned how to structure his verses like songs. He has written and produced over 150 songs since and over 1000 beats via Acid Pro/Pro Tools Media. Supported by family and friends Steve is ready to breathe fire & bring new HIT SONGS to life. Steve & Gary believe each song carries a message & offers a meaning you can truly relate to. Steve owes much of his talent to the superior artistry of Eminem, Gary offers his honors in tribute of Marvin Gaye and Sam Cooke!

I've had the pleasure of working with a lot of now well known local NC/SC Artists. In the early 90s R&B Singer Anthony Hamilton lived in my neighborhood and used to cut my hair. I used to build with him on music and get beat tapes from his brother. Those were the intro days of hip hop for me. A lot of what I later learned (2002) was from sitting and watching 9th Wonder, Khrysis and others use then Cool Edit and the original Fruity Loops. My close friends introduced me to the MPC 2000, Grandma gave me all the old wax that was in her attic and it was on from there. Slightly before 2002 I was making Electro Music on a TR-808 and DR-5. Hip Hop is my love though and you'll hear an interesting mix of the two in the tracks I make. Find something you want to use for...lmk. These collections of beats date back but I continue to upload new material as it's made.
