Here's a few recordings to pass the time.

All recorded at home on a single mic ,or sometimes on a mobile phone ,one take at a time and then mixed in Ableton Live 9 by a total amateur.......

 I've certainly enjoyed the learning process and if I've learnt anything, it's probably that while my playing may not be great ........it's possibly better than my mixing🤣

Also, on almost all my charts, solo changes are in every section so somebody always gets to play.

There are a lot of sax solos on the demo tracks here cause that's what I play. I did get a little help here from Alex Iles and Wayne Bergeron on some of the demos.
FYI these are all done in Logic Pro using "Ivory" Piano for the piano and the rest Logic instruments. I write so much stuff that I don't always get a chance to get it performed so thats why I do the demos the way I do. I'm sure you will get the idea of how the charts sound from the demos.
If you are a band director and don't have time to wade through all the music, have your students go through the charts and tell you what ones they might recommend.

Cathal Caulfield is a traditional folk singer / fiddle player from Dublin whose sound is strongly influenced by the Irish fiddling tradition, as he attempts to imitate the ethereal tone and intricate ornamentation of the instrument in his singing.

Naturally, this led to the inclusion of the fiddle itself. Expect to hear delicate vocals interwoven with gentle drones and wailing instrumentals. Followed by varied sets of traditional tunes which are full of life and energy while showing great respect to the origins of the music and the music makers.

Colm Scully is following
