After ending their four year hiatus from the label with the fantastic "Beat Organ EP" earlier this summer, 16 Bit Lolitas aka Ariaan Olieroock and Peter Kriek are back with another huge three track EP.

Title track "Deep In My Soul", was an instant office favourite, and picked up it's first play live on BBC Radio 1 from none other than Pete Tong during his Essential Mix with Sasha at Privilege in Ibiza. Fusing their trademark melodic grooves with an infectious vocal loop, Ariaan and Peter deliver a real anthem - one as equally potent poolside as it is in the main room, as Tong and Sasha can testify.

Equally memorable second track "Premium Emo" takes a more leftfield approach, built around gliding guitars and soaring vocals over a breakbeat groove. First heard in their ABGT guest mix earlier this year, "Premium Emo" is yet another 16BL classic.

"Higher State" rounds off the EP in style, showcasing the deeper end of Ariaan and Peter's musical spectrum. Soulful, jazzy melodies make way for rolling low end grooves and energetic synths in an another complex gem.

Sometimes you just have the creative drive to finish something in a matter of hours, not days. I loved the musicality and melodies in Vernal when I first heard it on Anjunabeats Vol. 13, I just had to put my own spin on it. No MIDI packs were used in this remix at all, I had the original on repeat trying to figure out which notes were playing. I also added in a few harmonies not present in the original. Hope everyone enjoys my remix of Spencer Brown - Vernal.

Colorcast 064 with Andrew Benson

We are pleased to welcome Qatar-based talent A.M.R to the label. His past work reflects a penchant for uplifting, peak-hour trance & progressive. Yet, with the three-track offering "Orchids," A.M.R explores much deeper sonic terrain, to exceedingly moving effect.

"Orchids" begins its slow burn with an expansive soundscape, tinged with a rising chime. Mellow piano keys patiently flicker against the developing backdrop. The one-minute mark sets ablaze a spark of hypnotic percussion, as a deep bass hums below the flame. A suspenseful buildup ultimately reveals a delicately executed combination of haunting piano keys and moving strings. 

"Uncharted" establishes a chilled groove in the early going, but soon begins to crescendo, as an ethereal combination of vocal and instrumental motifs enter the mix. Angelic vocal samples reverberate through the soundscape, as do each poignant keystroke of the piano. At midpoint, the song fully reveals itself as a dichotomous exploration of both hope and sorrow. The track's concluding moments, replete with indelible melodic themes, offer us sanctuary from the terrestrial concerns that underpin our anxiety and deepest fears.

Evoking the isolation of its namesake, "One Man Island"'s hollow piano keys transport us to a solitary space, removed from the bustle of metropolitan life. Here, we revel in the mellow musings made possible through pensive solitude. Airy soundscapes welcome familiar elements of the track's predecessors, while leaving more than ample space for it to remain compositionally unique. Primitive vocal effects, coupled with slick percussive effects, position the song firmly in upbeat and emotive territory.

Leading Colorize artist Sound Quelle brings a fantastic three track EP to the label with 'Makelda / Onacana / Filenta'.

Closing off the year in remarkable fashion, Sound Quelle follows up his remix of Dezza's 'Lost Touch' with a brilliant EP featuring 'Makelda' and 'Filenta' which were both included in Colorize's 'Colorscapes' compilation mixed by Matt Fax and Dezza.

On this EP the Russian producer creates a stunning kaleidoscope of textures, smoothly transitioning from a harder Progressive House sound into more tender Deep House territory. On 'Makelda' he uses attention-grabbing risers and FX and a powerful 4/4 drum pattern to propel the track forward, while on 'Onacana' and 'Filenta' he makes use of ethereal vocals, tranquillising idiophones and flute sounds to create a singular vibe in the world of House music in 2019.
