Haffenfold returns to the Steyoyoke imprint with this emotional and delicate single, “Elesa”. The 2 track release includes the original and a heavier, more dance centric, remix by The Element. Two wonderfully crafted interpretations of the same ethereal landscape.

“Elesa” is an elegant and hyper-ambianced composition featuring a sustained wide bass that plays supplement to the melancholic chord progression, and a standout, monotoned, “spoken word”, by the mysterious caller Elesa, hidden behind intrigue, keeping the listener curious to find out more; the beauty is in the details. The Element takes the original piece and applies a superpower low end that pushes the pace to new bounds. The remix amplifies the groove and selectively uses the vocal in smaller, more atmospheric chops. This provides a distinct separation between the airy original to the dancefloor primed remix.

“Elesa” is a release that is composed of many aspects of music a connoisseur looks for, depth, emotional connection, and complexity. The same depth of sound is what the Steyoyoke imprint strives to provide with every release. This, despondent and emotional original by Haffenfold, and the bass heavy club remix by The Element, represents the duality of the ethereal techno brand.

As 2022 draws to a close, Purified Records delivers a new selection of melodic gems in its latest VA compilation – Purified Fragments XIII. Opening with their instrumental cut ‘Wind’, German production outfit Diode Eins make their label debut. Floating across a laidback arrangement, the producers combine undulating synths, shuffling percussion, and bold instrumentals to enter a mystical realm. Namatjira teams up with Jelle van Leeuwen for a delicate and blissful offering ‘Reminiscent’, where the producers devise a stunning instrumental arrangement with a timeless feel. Frankfurt-based artist Paraframe closes out the compilation with ‘Euphoria’. Building a hypnotic soundscape with staccato notes and raw bass, the track turns with a mesmerizing drop that will keep listeners hooked across its duration

Sultan + Shepard - Making Time with Julia Church [Extended Mix]

Two years ago we shared Dombrance's Taubira to celebrate the artist's debut show on American soil. That show was at the first of our legendary Bowery Ballroom parties in New York City. Now the crew present a selection of remixes from some of their frequent collaborators.

Dombrance is a French DJ and producer who has been releasing selective, highly regarded work for almost 20 years gracing labels like Kitsune, Virgin Records and Yuksek’s Partfine. The single ‘Taubira’ appeared exclusively via our channel two years ago and now returns for a full release with a stellar set of remixes.

The package opens with the hypnotic, arpeggiated excellence of the original before handing the reins to the assembled remix team. The mixes are bookended by two adaptations from new kid on the block Josh Ludlow who opens things with a powerful club edit with a deep, heady feel and closes out with a pumping 80’s Italo rework. Between these two variations, we have the ‘Clan Disko Dub’ from respected Slovenian producer Ichisan who teams up with the Gouranga Clan to go down a percussive & acidic route. Alongside this, Spain’s James Rod turns in an extended and intense revision that takes things into tripped out, late-night territory.

At the centre of all this is the jewel in an already gleaming crown as Norwegian Cosmic God Prins Thomas takes the track down a psychedelic bass trip - stretched out over a blissful eleven minutes to create something truly timeless.
