Always one of my favorite songs. Craig played guitar, and Chris played bass. Craig's solos are my absolute favorite, period, full stop. There were two live versions of this song: The album version, and a heavier, more electronic-sounding one that I don't think we played too often. As with many of our other alternate live versions, the structure of the song was left intact, allowing us to perform it as usual, but the "bed" was noticeably different. This helped keep it fresh for the audience, and for us as well. Some production notes: The mechanical churning noise in the intro came from Chris sampling his car's windshield wipers, and we played them at various speeds. The "So here I am" audio sample is Professor X from the 90s X-Men cartoon; the long ranting at the end is taken wholesale from "The Snake Pit", a late 40s Olivia de Havilland film about a woman in an asylum.
