Following last year's Mytrip highly appreciated vinyl debut Empty, the Bulgarian ambient / drone artist is back with a long-anticipated full-length album. In Filament Mytrip is delving deeper into his raw and complex soundscapes. This time they are enriched by tense melodies, blurry rhythmic patterns and organic field recordings. Breathing on the thin borderline of ambient, drone and dub, Filament is Mytrip's most emotionally and musically varying release so far.

The record was written to be experienced live, thus it carries the signature aural harshness of the artist's recent works. Combined with Mytrip's immense love for drifting sonic environments Filament is an atmospheric, but intense story about birth, growth and self-awareness.

Hailing from Athens, Greece, Whereswilder are releasing their sophomore record in March. “Hotshot” is as outgoing as its title suggests. 

Featuring eleven new tracks, the album hits the listener with old-school rock hooks and tunes reminiscing the singer-songwriter era of the early 70s. The band's revamped goat figure is in full display on the record cover. Made by Greek graphic designer, Nikos Tsounakas, it sets the colorful tone of the new songs perfectly. The production of the record is yet another result of the band's affiliation with Alex Bolpasis. Together they picked up the live feel of 'Yearling' (the band's debut) and pushed it a step further. 

“We highly recommend you to use this record as a travel companion on the road” the band quotes.

“Hotshot” comes out on LP and digital album on March 27th via Inner Ear.  The digital album includes one extra track.

Η νέα δισκογραφική δουλειά των Whereswider έχει τον τίτλο “Hotshot” και κυκλοφορεί στις 27 Μαρτίου. Με νέο line-up και σαφώς πιο εξωστρεφείς (όπως υποδεικνύεται από τον τίτλο και το εξώφυλλο), οι Αθηναίοι επιστρέφουν με ένα αμιγώς feelgood, ροκ άλμπουμ.

Στα έντεκα νέα τραγούδια που περιέχονται στο “Hotshot”, οι Whereswilder διατηρούν ανέπαφο τον old-school κιθαριστικό χαρακτήρα τους, κάνοντας παράλληλα συνθετικά βήματα που θα θυμίσουν στον ακροατή τη singer-songwriter εποχή της δεκαετίας του '70.  Κοινός συντελεστής σε όλα αυτά είναι η άποψη του παραγωγού Άλεξ Μπόλπαση, με τον οποίο το συγκρότημα μετρά πλέον δύο κυκλοφορίες.

Ο ζωγραφικός πίνακας του ανερχόμενου εικαστικού, Νίκου Τσουνάκα, αποτελεί το βασικό στοιχείο του artwork και αναδεικνύει πλήρως τον χαρακτήρα του “Hotshot”.
