The annual Winter Music Conference returns for 2023 and with it, so does Toolroom’s revered Miami compilation album to celebrate the culture of House, Tech House and Techno. Stacked high with some of the globe’s hottest talents in the scene, along with a selection of absolute club weapons curated by the label itself.

Included on the album are 50 of the finest underground dance anthems from the likes of HUGEL, ESSEL, Dombresky, Mark Knight, Crusy, Leftwing : Kody, Hannah Wants, CHANEY, WEISS & Kristin Velvet. Dutch studio wizard Thys is the producer’s producer. As a member of Noisia he pushed the boundaries of sound design with remarkable attention to detail. In recent years his solo output led him to explore more subgenres of club music, in the widest range of tempos, and finding freedom in spontaneous collaborations. On his new Fool’s Gold EP, Eigenwise, Thys is making the most playful music of his career. He jumps from garage to futuristic electro, from hardgroove to jungle with remarkable ease, subverting familiar tropes and flipping them on their heads. He is joined at the boards by Nikki Nair, A-Trak, Machinedrum, Chloe Robinson, DJ ADHD and Holly; all happy to lend a hand in this dazzling display of expert production.

Embodying their signature deep house sound, Amsterdam based Detroit Swindle have officially remixed ‘South Of The River’, the new single by Tom Misch. 
With Tom being a huge fan of the duo as well as working with them in the studio, the collaboration itself was very organic. Detroit Swindle operate under their own label Heist Recordings as well as having released music on renowned labels like Freerange, Future Classics, Dirt Crew (where they released their well received debut album ‘Boxed Out’), Tsuba, Classic Music Company, Kaoz Theory and many more. This includes notable remixes for Hercules and Love Affair, Chet Faker, Seven Davis Jr. and Romanthony’s track ‘Too Long’ produced by Daft Punk. The boys are as much enthusiastic record diggers and synth hunters as they are lovers of modern day electronic music, so the pair working with Tom through this remix was an easy decision.

South London producer Ben Hauke takes a sonic excursion to South America via Lewisham for a new seven track release for Far Out Recordings. While littered with Afro-Latin percussion, and samples of obscure Brazilian, Cuban and Colombian records, Only Old stays true to Ben’s distinctly London identity, with a record that fluctuates between house, broken beat and instrumental hip-hop. 
Having collaborated with the likes of Nubya Garcia and Joe Armon Jones, Ben Hauke stands at the electronic end of London’s new jazz movement. Currently working on new releases with more of a focus on live instrumentation, Ben titled the release ‘Only Old’ as it leans more heavily on his foundational approach to music making: an idiosyncratic, almost brazen sampling style in productions bursting with personality.  
Always full of character and style, Hauke’s productions have seen him likened to Theo Parrish and Madlib, with an altogether physical approach to sound. Title track ‘Only Old’ is moody broken beat with eerie sampled vocals and piano. ‘Get Up To Get Down’ is a light n’ breezy summer house stepper, while Brazil-inspired ‘Runners’ sounds as if it was made for MF Doom. 
Only Old will be released on 180g Vinyl and digitally 20th July. Sleeve design by fellow South London based artist Samuel Lloyd.
