Completing the recent LP reissue of Black Voices by Tony Allen, Comet presents a 2 tracks remix EP by Folamour and NIT. The two rising French producers provide great new versions of “Get Together” and “The Same Blood”.

FOLAMOUR: Behind this surprising name is hidden one of the main House producer and DJ from France. Label manager of the amazing record labels Moonrise Hill Material and FHUO Records, the artist using lots of different aliases has already burnt most of the best dancefloors in Europe and beyond. 2017 has been an important year in his career with releases on Church and Glitterbox labels, and a debut album on Moonrise Hill Material and Classic Music Company, after a whole series of successful records on quality labels such as All City Records, Fauxpas Musik and Sleazy Beats Recordings. Working on his second album after two EPs upcoming soon, it makes no doubt that it's only the beginning for Folamour.

NIT: NIT is the studio project of the French musician Corentin Kerdraon. After several years working at radios in Paris he released a first EP called Dessous de Plage in May 2017, displaying condensed grooves with multiple references, from Jean-Claude Vannier to Dam Funk... Alternating Pop projects and more experimental compositions he's present on different musical scenes as keyboard player and producer. He has just recorded an EP for the American singer COLA BOY released in spring 2018 on the French label Record Makers.

Copenhagen's Dorsi Plantar makes his return to Better Listen Records following last year’s springtime favorite, 'Everlast', with his latest work titled the 'Tack Farsan' EP, which features the smooth jazz house cut 'Besitos'.

As the label describes: "'Tack Farsan' is a balanced sample-driven EP intended to milk the last of summer’s flavors for the dancefloor’s enjoyment. The top side hosts sunny disco affairs in the release’s title track, and a polished collab with label mate Sune. The logo side, on the other hand, explodes into deeper, latin ventures."

The 'Tack Farsan' EP is set for release October 12.

What do you know about D.Y.A? Late last year, the Jazz-drummer-turned-House-head debuted his production chops via SOLIDE, the collective and label co-founded with fellow Berliners, Kalyma and MYNY. A busy year later, he finds himself on Zurich-based Foul & Sunk with "Morello", a lively EP with two original tracks featuring remixes by Johannes Albrecht and Shan.

"Cosy", which we have the pleasure of premiering, is a masterfully arranged piece of music centered around a reliable, disco-tinged guitar riff. From the tracks initial call to action, various harmonic layers are carefully introduced to reinforce the initial idea and elevate it to new heights. The interwoven guitar parts, optimistic bassline, and shuffle of the drums combine for an arrangement that works equally well in the club and the comfort of home.

Check out "Cosy" alongside the synth-laden A-side Morello (along with their respective remixes) when it drops on Nov. 19.

Jefe Y Soul - Copacabana Blues

Ben Gomori tweaks the mighty Nahawa Doumbia's Sigi Sele. Doumbia has been a prominent voice in Malian music since the late 80s. Gomori's tasteful edit gives a little more breathing room to the track, allowing the horns to really do the business on the dancefloor. Sterns edits delivers another fun yet refined release.

Eric Trosset, founder and owner of Comet Records, has released a stream of albums by many of the key players at the cutting edge of Afrobeat and electronic music. These include Tony Allen (Black Voices & Psycho on Da Bus), the sound activist Doctor L, Donso, Theo Parrish & Eska, Afro beat makers and the Disco Afro Series. 

Comet also develops, manages and represents projects and artists searching for new sounds and creating an avant-garde alternative to the staid world music approach. 

The label  has been collaborating with artists such as the highlife legends Ebo Taylor & Pat Thomas, on album projects  with  The Rocket Juice and The Moon, supergroup made up of Damon Albarn, Tony Allen and Flea,  exploring the afrotech sound  with Moritz Von Oswald and Tony Allen, dipping into the avant-garde scene in Sao Paolo, alongside the artist Meta Meta. 

Most recently Eric has been in Berlin working on a new album with the production duo Nu Guinea, due in Fall 2018, overseeing a ground-breaking collaboration between Tony Allen and the Detroit techno legend Jeff Mills, and worked as  excecutive producer of the international debut album of malian griot  superstar Babani Kone out  end of 2018.
