Sean Wood surprised me. Although I had known him for a while, and knew he was a dj with a long history in the dance community, and even though he camped with the DBR for years prior to the pandemic, something happened over the course of a few small quarantine pod squad gatherings- I got hooked! Maybe I was late to the party, but I have a handful of memories where I had to stop dancing and just stand there, mouth agape, thinking "THIS IS SEAN WOOD!!!"  His TCHP+DBR mix is still of my most routinely played, and this one is sure to join the ranks with it's lovely story arc and Dusty vibes!

A birthday celebration, a surprise wedding, an enchanted castle - this was the back drop when KEGS & Fluid Druid took to the decks during an unexpected day-two on a very special weekend in Cregg Castle. 

What ensued was a two and half hour odyssey that charted a meandering course through time, space and many, many genres. 

Breaks, progressive, Italo-disco, house, acid, and organic, tribal beats were all woven together - with the Yawlag selectors taking inspiration from each other and letting the tracks be guided by the energy of the moment. 

A journey of magic, comradery and flow.

005 of our series is curated and mixed by Vancouver based ethereal electronica producer/DJ, Saif Ali. Born and raised in Pakistan, Saif got his early electronic music inspiration from the innovative sounds of the German project, Enigma (https://youtu.be/4F9DxYhqmKw). At first listen this genre of music inspired him through its euphoric and emotional reverberations and his style revolves around the realm of ethereal techno and deep house frequencies.

Part of the Leave Us Lost Collective (https://shorturl.at/irwKP), which are known for hosting some of Vancouver’s most eminent underground events, Saif has been very busy gigging as of late.
