Pollinate Records founder Dashiell offers his first LP "This Colourful World" to the label. 

The album was recorded at his home studio in Coburg, Melbourne and features field recordings of the surrounding area. The process began at the beginning of 2020. Originally intended as an ambient album, the project morphed over the course of two years, adding and subtracting rhythms and varying tempos until coming to its conclusion, a sonic rendition of an uncertain future, equally as optimistic as it is cynical.

Welcoming Zara to Passing Notes episode 178. Having recently shifted geographical gears from the nation’s capital to the capital of dance, Zara’s suite of musical engagements in the form of original productions, DJing and label curation (Kinesis records) are fast taking shape and turning heads. Following two impressive singles on Phenomena and Pure Space, Zara celebrates the release of her outstanding debut EP on the now-Berlin based Salt Mines record label. Gliding gracefully into her place in the production world, Zara’s debut EP titled ‘Di Plastica’ combines the basslines of contemporary drum and bass, the driving percussion of deep ambient techno and the psychedelic sprinkles of 90s trance. Drawing from a range of influences, Zara has quickly established her own boundness sound which boasts her undeniable unfettered creativity. Her approach to DJing and mix-making further highlight her creativity and penchant for drawing out expressive qualities in music. Setting herself up for an exciting 2023 ahead, Monoke has dug into a deep and immersive selection of dubby, ambient inspired techno and thick bass-scapes that captivated our ears and minds upon first listening to this brilliantly crafted mix. We have become increasingly aware of this talented DJ's activities with sets popping up across Bristol, Cardiff and London it's easy to see why Monoke is a name repeatedly appearing on line-ups. Headphone on for this one, it's a beaut!

For the 10th edition of the series, we welcome the always impressive Bethan. This London based dj, and regular of the much loved queer venue, Dalston Superstore has been carving out a name for herself in the capital over the last couple of years. Across just 60 minutes, Bethan delves into trance, house, and breakbeat for a taste of what to expect from this exciting artist.

'This mix mainly consists of progressive house/trance & hard house tracks that I've discovered and/or played out lately. I didn't really intend for the mix to be a high NRG one, but it was fun to record and a good example of what you can expect to hear me play in the basement of Dalston Superstore.'

We have turned our backs on our natural sense awareness, we are in the age of metaverse, unexplained sightings, viruses, reality bending, hyperstition and a global network, for better or worse. Our rational world is yet to provide all the answers and it seems there is a spell, or a curse stopping our ‘best minds’ from coming close to getting a grasp on it.
What do you know? What do you know for sure?

Know Your Mountain expands on Booshank's work from his own "Couch Acid Recordings" imprint and his 12” on Butter Sessions 2019 12” "Operating With A Blown Mind", with this new digital EP he guides you through panoramas of ethereal organic technology, before you know it the clouds have dispersed and you are being led through a molecular crypt in total immersion.

It is a fine and delicate practice when you stray from functional music but these aural gems show a producer which has gone off the deep end in pursuit of his own musical vocabulary. The augment percussion, unstable pads and glowing synths dance on the edge of collapsing, they often do, before long they reform into new chemical compounds of this mad scientist creation.

You may want to start low and take it slow or else risk falling under the dream-like spell’s which are invoked throughout this EP. In my opinion, when confronted with a craft capable of this mystical candor, the only way out is through..
