Wilted Woman is the primary music alias of Elizabeth L Davis. Over the last decade, she has been active as a performer, composer, and radio artist. Davis regularly collaborates with Silvia Kastel as Shakey, with Christoph de Babalon as Suds, and with Nick Klein.

Her left-field approach to electronic music emerges from an experimentally minded and refreshingly unapologetic attitude, forged in the punk and DIY scenes of the East Coast of the United States. Since 2014, she lives in Berlin, Germany and holds down a monthly slot as DJ Puddle on Cashmere Radio.

"The relationship of Alley Catss (aka Máté Janky) and EXILES dates back to the very beginning of the label and includes numerous joint efforts and memorable collaborations. He kicked off the first compilation album (EX01) of the label in 2017, contributed several tracks to various VA albums throughout the years, plus he co-organized events and mixes with EXILES, bringing forth artists from his own label too (Daddypower Records). It was just about time to finally have the first full-length Alley Catss release landing in the catalog, presenting seven ethereal tracks, each bearing Janky’s unique voice and dedicated vision for composition and sound design. 

Vernacular Cortex Music is a sharp and focused sonic journey in 30 minutes, representing both hard-hitting, glitched beats and icy digitalia as well as fantasy-oriented, dreamlike scenarios. Stepping off the grid and exploring uncharted territories, the first three tracks (st_x, β and Iβ) share an attitude of overdriven madness, firing up kickdrums, distorted screams and rumbling bass. As the album progresses to Εσχ, the pieces of sound introduced in the first half of the album become even more scattered with more space to breathe, which then slowly fade into a coherent sonic sphere of echoes, mechanic angst and rusted, suffocating dread. 

The latter half of Vernacular Cortex Music is a much more sensitive, careful and tender take that bears the stains of stress and uncertainty (_yg), yet shows a way to a future that promises care, joy and an idea of sanity. Like going back to sleep after waking up from a nightmare, +C takes us to a gentle world of sweet dreams, full of virtual harpsichords and iconic organ basses. Finishing up the album, _int is a beatless, waving pulsation with soft rumbles, mellow sighs and bubbling reverberations, slowly closing up Alley Catss’ long-awaited debut on EXILES." - Nemerov

"Soulthorns / The Seeker (…)Each of the bramble entities detached itself from the mass and began to plunge their hands into the murky waters all around. The ground shook with the rhythm of their arm movements, creating halos of white embers. Immense plants sprang up from the depths, forming incomprehensible structures. A sort of translucent flow was running through those plants, similar to human veins, giving those structural architecture something mysthical. As passed through the scene, the central mass of light seemed to recede. Ominous lyrical harmonics resonate more clearly through the huge holes surrounding it. As it touched the light, A deep nothingness appeared all around. A deep growing intensifies under the feets until grumbling while everything were still dark.
Appeared then such as a mirror in front, a stream of water. It slowly intensify drop by drop. Suddenly the face of a woman revealing through the water, as if frozen across the centuries. Only her face stood out, slowly revealing the rest of her body was spread out over several meters of intertwined brambles and fir branches, giving an opressive confusion of her real proportion. After a minute as long as a year, her eyes opened, revealing a striking colour. Her gaze darted forward and a root tore through the water with a tremendous roar. The swarm then devoiced and through the torrent of branches an artefact took shape. A dagger of obsidian, ochre black that only the glowing light of those eyes could reveal. Plunging the blade through the water, the woman disappeared in a thousand seconds and with a blink of an eye, blood poured from the hand handling the knife. It only took a second again to see the knife disappearing like ash, flooding the bloody mud of incandescent embers whispering words. This knowledge revealed to be unseekable for any drowsy mind. This unexplored part of the dream remind tormented, like a continuous pyre of memories consuming the roots."

Two years after his last release, Taipei producer Lujiachi returns in 2022 with Mantis, a new EP focused on heavy, percussion-driven tracks that roll out at around the 100 BPM mark. Each cut is tied together by snarling, fuzzed-out bass and metallic drum sounds, sounding like hard drum blaring out of a busted Marshall stack. In the brutal opener “Link,” sludge metal bass tones mingle with a reoccurring sample of labored breathing. Kick and snare are buffeted by all manner of glass-breaking and metal-smashing percussive noise, which threaten to tear the track apart yet somehow end up just making the groove even stronger. The title track begins with a crackle of distortion, announcing the arrival of a rumbling bassline that moves with a brash swagger echoing Lujiachi’s club edits of old school Taiwanese pop. As an eerily insectoid plucked synth figure stalks the high end, the kick locks into a 4/4 stomp to draw us to a lento violento-like conclusion.
 
Lujiachi’s peers in Taipei’s underground scene also contribute two remixes: psychedelic explorers Mong Tong transform “Link” into a launchpad for waves of pentatonic surf guitar, while emerging producer Sandy retools “Mantis” for maximum club pressure.     

Mong Tong has become one of the most famous bands in Taiwan with Taiwanese folklore and a love of conspiracy theories to form what they describe as “superstitious music.” As the remix of the track “Link”, they used their impressive guitar sound for the lead to express their vision of the violence world.

Aquarian - The Snake That Eats Itself

Canadian born, Berlin based producer @Aquarian makes his full length album debut The Snake That Eats Itself on Bedouin Records. This record follows his collaborative EPs with Deapmash as 'AQXDM" and is his first solo release since his 2016 experimental mixtape for Quiet Time.

Nearly five years in the making,The Snake That Eats Itself is Aquarian's most complex, diverse and emotive work to date, plunging his trademark UK sound-system / techno hybrids into a self-contained, cinematic universe streaked with heavy influences from industrial, IDM, drone and dark pop music. Written in Brooklyn, New York, in a deeply transitional, yet seemingly endless period preceding his relocation to Berlin,the title of the album refers to the Ouroboros, a mythological serpent symbolizing the cycle of birth and death and infinity itself.

The Snake That Eats Itself pits Aquarian's most abrasive and brutal moments next to his most wistful and introspective. Viscerally thick layers of tape saturation envelop the album as sludgy synths ooze against brittle atmospheres; breakbeats fragment, explode and disintegrate into swarms of delay and noise; scorched, metallic percussion - sampled from a year-long demolition and construction project next to his apartment - forge the rhythmic backbone of the album. These elements, however, seamlessly make way to startlingly crystalline and shimmering ambient passages, offering a sense of reprieve and balance.
