Syrinx Music is pleased to welcome Midnight Totem amongst its catalogue. Persephone is her fifth release, following an album released on Tripalium Corp last year: over the course of twelve tracks and 42 minutes, Midnight Totem showcases her sound, taking cues from 90s-style IDM, electro, dark techno, ambient, breaks & more. These various influences are connected by Midnight Totem’s unique touch, lying on her taste for deep arpeggios, murky melodies and a punk approach to music production. 

Aerial layers of synths, melodic keys & echoes of distant voices combine in successive vignettes, creating an atmosphere that simultaneously emanates melancholy and menace. Persephone also makes great use of Midnight Totem’s signature lo-fi sound, favouring immediacy in her music writing, and placing the expression of feelings and sensations at the core of her productions. This new album is thus a perfect reflection of Midnight Totem’s aesthetics, in line with Syrinx Music’s ethos – always located at the many crossroads between the lab & the club.

Flaming Jesus Dial-up are a band consisting of Italian brothers Francesco and Marco Leoci, already part of the post-jackin'beats duo FLML and founders of the label Alley Version. Francesco and Marco were born in Brindisi, where began to have their first music experiences playing in a teenage punkrock band. They moved to Bologna, where currently live, to complete studies in fine arts, at the same time they involved in experimental projects of sound art and multimedia. The FJD project took shape in 2023 while Francesco and Marco had fun experimenting in their studio with modified guitars, analog synthesizers and drum machine. The tracks resulting from these sessions, incorporating an erratic, loose and transgressive aesthetic, consist of noisy hallucinatory soundscapes, often coupled with slow infectious rhythms and gloomy soundtrack-style motifs. credits releases October 4, 2024
