Andrew Pearson & Lovers Turn to Monsters make ‘nevertheless’ pop music. They write songs of unusual lyrical depth and sophistication, nevertheless delivered with a lightness of touch and common unpretentiousness that makes 'Everything We Miss' one of the most charming and likeable releases of the year. They are almost morbidly obsessed with writing about death, loss and loneliness; nevertheless their music is relentlessly upbeat, uplifting and optimistic. It is homemade and DIY, nevertheless undeniably ‘pop’. In their brilliant collaborative debut, two of Scotland’s finest young songwriters have created an album of beguiling and ingenious indie-pop that thrives on its multifaceted nature.

Andrew Pearson & Lovers Turn to Monsters (a.k.a. Kyle Wood) were united by their love of comic books, Wes Anderson and lo-fi music. These influences shine through in their desire to make good ol’ fashioned entertainment yet with a sincere, and at times devastating, emotional core. 'Everything We Miss' is a must-listen.
