Episode 3: Growing Opportunity + Feeding Community with Manna Soup Kitchen

Matthew Schaeffer and Emily Bell join Common Air to discuss the importance of reconciliation and understanding our past in order to move forward together. The conversation explores the history of Fort Lewis College, the reconciliation work supported by Schaeffer in his role as Reconciliation Coordinator, and how the former Federal Indian Boarding School at the Old Fort in Hesperus is using agriculture as a tool for healing rather than assimilation.

History Colorado is hosting a series of Community Listening Sessions for families and individuals impacted by the history of American Indian Boarding Schools. OPEN to survivors, descendants, and those who have direct family connection to Federal Indian Boarding Schools.
