Jordi Barberà//Droxxid// is a DJ who draws from minimalism, psychedelia and science fiction to create energetic yet hypnotic sets, where the notion of time and space are diluted in the atmosphere.

Madrid's F-on is a much beloved figure within the Spanish scene, known for his elegant all-vinyl sets and curation behind the brilliant Alpenglühen label among so much more. We stayed in touch after his particularly beautiful set at 2017’s Paral·lel Festival, and I've been looking forward to one day sharing this episode of the series since. Alfonso’s mix is uncanny in its precision and demonstrates a prowess behind the decks that few can match, a soft palette built through veteran and timeless selection. Two hours in and out of focus like rippling dust through which the flow of time slows, a stasis in the stream. Thanks Alfonso!

We are delighted to bring you a gem from this year’s Mostra Festival: a two-hour live recording from Lynne, captured in Barcelona 2025. In this set, she moves with ease through ambient textures, deep basslines, rolling percussion, drones, and surprising rhythms. Her love for drum & bass and dubstep quietly ties it all together.

Lynne’s story began in Tokyo, where a first night raving to drum & bass changed everything. It sparked a move to London, where she soaked in jungle, dubstep, and the UK’s raw underground energy before returning home to shape her own sound within Tokyo’s experimental scene.

Now moving between Tokyo and London, Lynne explores the in-between spaces of techno, experimental, and drum & bass. Her mixes feel like small journeys: thoughtful, a little mischievous, and always true to the rhythms that first lit the spark.

Today’s Deep Mind Music entry is a trip through the depths of the earth from Shoal 🌘🌙

Listening to this set I was transported into another realm of being, taken by the hand through the mists of time, into the molten core of the earth. A transmission from the collective unconsciousness of mankind, sinking into the faded memories of our ancestors. Megalithic drones contrast with intricate moments of delicate celestial harmony, as iridescent shimmers of light glint into a shadowed cave. As the mix concludes, we softly re-emerge, floating on a blanket of rainbow-hued clouds ✨🤍

This mix is a live set made entirely of music composed by Shoal, formed from a series of recordings. It features field recordings captured in Japan, as well as a jam session with flute (Urosh), contrabass (Julian Tjon Sack Kie), and sound exploring a tam-tam gong, all collaged together. Thank you Shoal for this moving and evocative journey taking listeners through the primordial beyond 🌌💠🌀

Shinsuke Goto, curator and resident DJ at Tokyo’s Mitsuki, contributes a finely tuned mix for this edition of Unrush. I heard him play in Tokyo in 2024, where his DJ set revealed a deep sensitivity for the trippier side of electronic music - a quality that also flows through this mix.

Here, Shinsuke explores spacious soundscapes and intricate layers of sound design, moving between stillness and subtle motion. Mostly beatless, yet punctuated by gentle rhythmic currents, the mix unfolds with quiet tension and release. It’s a carefully shaped piece that draws the listener in through detail, texture, and a refined sense of flow.

While people were flying kites on Tempelhofer Feld, we sent some sound waves into the air from Torhaus. An hour of ambient from the trance world — all the emotional facets and colourful soundscapes of trance, but without the usual percussion. 

Veryl East is a DJ based in Zurich. He plays emotionally textured trance and ambient, drawing inspiration from the contemporary Scandinavian scene and past Parisian nights alike. While helping to carve out a niche for Nordic trance in Switzerland, he has also appeared in mix series and line-ups across Europe and beyond.

DK's session was captured at the event following his recent release on Midgar fulfilling a debut at the label showcase event.

On the day he played the second slot of the afternoon after Lilli Zykla's ambient opening,  gently shifting towards left field territories covered in drums at a downtempo pace.

𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘶𝘴 𝘢 𝘣𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘦𝘵?
This set was recorded at Mostra Festival in April – a beautiful four-day experimental music festival in the heart of Barcelona, and my first Europe show of the year! I had the opportunity to bridge the gap between Ena’s incredible live ambient set and Timnah & Mario (Hybrid)’s deep techno set.

I themed my set around spiralling synths, beginning the journey with broken beats and moving through half-time into 170 BPM, while maintaining a sense of hypnotic groove throughout. 

The crowd and energy in the room were magnetic – they were with me every step of the way. It was such a beautiful experience and definitely a highlight of my year. Huge thanks to the amazing team at Mostra!! :)

Hello :) I’m Zara and I’m originally from so-called Australia, but I’ve been living in London since April.

I’m finishing up my last EU/UK gigs for the year this week, and then I’m sooo excited to head to Japan and Korea for a mini tour – still pinching myself that I get to play there!

I’ve been DJing for about seven years and producing for around five.

XLB by Pearson Sound completely rewired my brain and pulled me into the subterranean world.

I first heard it during a yoga class while I was recovering from a back injury that made daily life difficult and it really stayed with me. It reminded me of the value of stillness and the beauty of inner peace - especially as the weather turns colder and the state of the world feels increasingly bleak.

𝘋𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘣𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘣𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘵?
So many… but festivals like Waking Life, Monument, Parallel, and Organik really inspire me for their beautiful locations and community-focused approach. For clubs, I’ve always dreamed of playing at Bassiani, Club Raum, Ankali, and Oil.

𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘶𝘱?
Again, so many!! I have so many artists I admire, so let’s say the dream lineup would be a festival in nature taking place over a couple of days :D

Donato Dozzy, Mama Snake, Timnah, OK Williams, Objekt, Woody92, Sybil, A Strange Wedding (live), Ema, Hysterical Love Project (live), Livwutang, James K (live), Konduku, Polygonia (live), Marco Shuttle b2b Jane Fitz, CCL, Djrum, Temple Rat (live), Upsammy, Harold, Tangerine, Kia and garçon - the list could go on haha, too many to name!

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘋𝘑𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘴?
The dance floor is your greatest teacher, community your strongest ally, and fear of failure your greatest enemy.

If you’re able to, get out, dance, and soak in as much diverse music as you can. I’ve learned so much from watching how people respond to certain moments and from the energy of the room itself. I take inspiration from different elements within tracks and from how I feel and move when I hear certain sounds.

Being in clubs or music spaces also helps cultivate a sense of community. By genuinely supporting artists, collectives, and venues, we can help the underground not just survive but thrive. And most importantly, the dance floor is the best place to meet like-minded people – some of my closest friends are those I met through a shared love of music <3

ara is a new record label curated by David Letellier, a.k.a Kangding Ray.
ara is a platform for recording artists with unique sonic identities that seeks to induce deep emotion
through sound ; focusing on singular artistic endeavours, created with patience and dedication.
While rooted in electronic club music, ara will not follow any prescribed sonic path :
it will explore a palette of diverse sound worlds who evolve through parallel series of curated
releases. Each series will represent either a concept or a particular musical direction, which will be
mirrored by its own design approach.
Since releasing physical records is increasingly becoming an irrational choice, each record will be
irrationally produced as an hand-made work of art, involving procedures and techniques such as
manually-applied ink, brushed acrylic paint or tape. Each edition will be individually numbered,
recognisable as a part of a whole, while being slightly different by nature.
The first release, by label curator Kangding Ray, will be the first step of this journey : organic,
emotional club music, for the body and mind.
The following releases for 2019 will come from Adiel, Refracted, Hydrangea and Voiski
