Leeds indie/pop quartet AVA IN THE DARK release their new single ‘Delete Us Forever’, via Blind Night Records, with distribution via Distrokid.  ‘Delete Us Forever’ is set for impact on 30th October 2020.  ‘Delete Us Forever’ is the first single from their debut four track EP of the same name. 
 
AVA IN THE DARK are where angelic vocals meet experimental guitar, punchy drums, shimmering synths and fuzzy basslines.  Hailing from the North of England the quartet AVA IN THE DARK feature two West Yorkshire natives, Thom on drums and Harry on guitar, and two members from Wales, vocalist Kiera and bassist Tommie hailing from Dyserth and Prestatyn respectively.  AVA IN THE DARK’s sound is the perfect storm of ice cold goth colliding with sumptuous new pop.  

Of their new single, singer Kiera explains, ”I suppose we write uplifting songs about dark things I’ve seen or experienced, ‘Delete Us Forever’ is about women trying to cope with trauma from sexual assault and learning how to be in that relationship again. The song relates to times in the relationship where the trauma was badly affecting it - It’s essentially about women’s bad relationship with men after an assault.”  ‘Delete Us Forever’ was part of a unique lockdown project by 2 x Grammy Award-winning mix engineer Eduardo De La Paz that will be printed to vinyl across the UK, profits split between the featured artists, to make up for lost gigs and income downturn during the Covid19 crisis.  Of their name Kiera says, “I suppose I felt sort of in the dark about everything growing up, I lived in a bubble (up on a hill in Dyserth, which was a very beautiful place to live but quiet.. not much happening), not really understanding or knowing about big things happening in the world. Ava comes from the Latin meaning like a bird, in the sense I sort of flew my way out (moving to Leeds), opening me up to important things going on in society and changes in myself too.”
