All Belongs to Time

Recording instructions:

1. Pull up/out the lyrics and recording(s).

2. Listen and practice clapping along to the 4-count claps - I use this to sync up all the tracks. 

3. To record: Play the the reference track (with the click track) from a computer while wearing headphones plugged into the computer, and using your phone as a microphone (*unless you happen to have another kind of mic, in which case, cool, please use that!)
*The point of wearing headphones while recording is so that you record *your voice only* (without the piano track and reference vocals).
 
Note 1: I know it can feel very raw to record solo’d vocals but we will  add some very nice reverb and mix it all together with the rest of chorus so that no single voice stands out - chorus-style!

Note 2: When recording, it’s good to be near non-reflective surfaces. For example: on carpeted floors vs concrete floors / a pillow-fort vs a glass house / a full closet vs a hallway / curtains vs. bare wall

Note 3: If you don’t have headphones, that’s fine, but hold your phone’s microphone facing away from the computer speakers

4. Sing a few times/as many times as you wish and I will arrange into the round (cheating!) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ - who cares!
Once you’ve recorded the track, listen back to make sure you can hear yourself, and also that the levels don’t peak, ie if you sang too close to the microphone, it might be distorted - if you hear distortion, you’ll want to record again

5. If you can title your tracks (I can do this in my voice memo app that came with my phone), please use something close to this naming convention:
“ABTT_[Your Name or Moniker]”
If you can’t title it, that’s fine, just note it in the email title (ABTT)

Our *Free* meetings at Feminist Center for Creative Work are made possible with the support of California Arts Council. Our chorus requires no previous experience/commitment, and is for All Bodies, All Voices. 
We sing at marches, protests, picket lines, fundraisers, GOTV events, and also in site responsive performance art. 

During quarantine we will continue to meet ( remotely ).
